Hold down LK. The problem is that you’re negative edging it.
It’s probably that you’re doing the qcf for the slashes while you’re unintentionally negative edging the lk. If you just make sure that let up on lk before starting your qcfs you should be fine.
…or just hold down LK?
Holding c.LK could be a bad idea, because often you’re going to want to do c.LK, c.LK x EX, in which case you may not want to get into the habit of holding a button you’d be pressing more than once. I recommend just tapping it quickly. Don’t get sloppy and leave your fingers hanging around for no reason.
It works fine for me, I just hold it down on the second one. I guess tapping would be better for my execution.
I’ll try tapping it, holding LK while doing EX slashes feels weird.
It’s times like this that make me hate negative edge, it’s like in CVS2 when I try to do Rock’s crouching MK -> Elbow and I do crouching MK -> Dash. So annoying.
Why does rolling kick have to suck so much? Its only use is to let your opponent feel good and land their biggest combo on you.
LK senkyutai is decent as an anti air. It gets stuffed easily at certain times, but if the opp. tries to empty jump parry, short senk has a funny habit of crossing up with the 2nd hit.
I suppose forward/rh senk can be used to hit a dumbass akuma who spams fireballs all day.
EX senk has a deceptive hitstun. It’s also an option when you wake up.
Anyways just tap the button.
Hmm, after watching the SBO vids of Roshi [not the finals though, man that was a bad set], I still think he’s the best Yang player out there. I understand his choices of when to use SA3 [though I don’t particularly agree with some of them, i.e. seiei enbu on mak and yun], and I suppose seiei enbu has its own merit in those matchups.
I got the combo down, what worked for me was holding downback when hitting the LK, then cancelling into EX slashes. Tapping/Holding the button didn’t work well =/
Don’t count out Goemon.
That dude’s Yang is crazy too.
But yeah, Seiei-Enbu is helluh funky.
No way to combo into it. Limited flexablity outside 2 slashes > cr.mp x’s N xx hp slash finish.
A BEASTY but highly improbable corner infinite/reset.
I wish Yang was better. =(

I really don’t get Goemon. That guy plays in the most retarded/gimmicky way, and yet manages to win somehow. Watching him win is funny [actually the only video I’d really watch from him is his match against Raoh, and even then mainly for the crowd reaction], but it starts to play on your mind - How can he play so stupid and get away with it? In japan of all places?
KO is like Goemon deluxe. He does gimmicky shit as well, but it’s obvious he’s just a better player.
Seiei enbu is mostly just about pressure. The damage output is shitty unless you try and go for resets. Pressure and ‘safe’ lockdown is what it’s all about. If it didn’t scale so fucking badly it’d be much better, even if you couldn’t combo into it. As it is it has limited uses, mostly against the big/fat characters of the cast, and a few others.
^ I couldn’t agree more.

I just checked the Goemon vs Raoh vid. And I just learned from it that you can cancel the QcbHP into SA2. I gotta try that as soon as I get home from work.
Yeah I’ve seen vids where on the occasion that Yang stuns someone and they’re somewhat close to being dead, a lot of them will taunt for the attack boost then palm-SAII.
Yup, can do it from his mp hp b+hp target combo as well. Scales like crazy though.
This is gonna sound like a really stupid question but Opponent is knocked down, upon his wake-up, what are my options?
- throw
- command throw
- block
- low foward xx slash
- slash
- close strong xx slash
- launch
- nothing, block
- jump up parry
- jump up dive kick
- walk back to bait something, punish
- point blank down parry
- point blank high parry
And there are slight variations for some of these, such as whiffing a normal or ticking into some of them.
Yangs command throw, worth learning kara or no?
No. Not worth the trouble.
what moves can beat out shoryus?
^ Blocking and Parrying. lol.
A lot of things from anyone will either get traded or flat out stuffed by shoryus.
Any one who does wake up shoryu’s though; except MAYBE EX Shoryu’s with Ken… is pretty dumb. EX Hurricane is Safer to do with Ryu, still dumb, but potentially safer.
Only time to really do wake up sho is when they try to UOH so you’ll duck on reaction to try and link a super art, or to walk up throw.
Or when you’re up in the other person’s shit building meter or being careless and your attack doesn’t recover fast enough.
