I hope it’s a timing issue

because I’ve got “blockable both sides” j.LK on everyone with Seth

still can’t figure the timing out

move the set up to the corner too. something about the corner makes it harder to turn. thats why you usually cant auto correct from there

Found most of them in the corner already. Mid-screen tends to introduce what looks unblockable but ends up being what I like to call “walk outable” (lol hit box doesn’t go far enough so the character walks out of the way.)

I think Yun and Yang have a bunch of undiscovered dive kick unblockables though. Like with Yun, a few were simply off delaying MK dive kick after throw ~ dashing forward twice (Yang and Fei unblockable mid-screen.) Both characters can probably come up with a unblockable midscreen set up after an FADC on Blanka with his hilarious hit box.

Hm alright, thx for the good info. It’s definetly timing sensitive (when you press the button in the air i mean), cody’s j.hp thing in the corner has different results depending on when you press it (from fake crossup to blockable on both sides) and also must be done late vs some characters like shotos.

Well, this is annoying. I decided to try and find unblockable set-ups today, and I found that the cross-up set-ups that I listed above, against some characters, will not work if the character blocks the right way. By that I mean it whiffs entirely. So I’ll be updating the cross-up set-ups to list ways that a character can escape from them (block the wrong way, block the right way, dash, reversal [if the character has one], etc.), if any, and see if we can develop any OS for whiffed cross-ups (I was thinking maybe OS command grab or lp rekkas).

How frustrating. Thanks again for your wonderful design choices, Capcom.

I still wonder why they nerfed the cross-up in the first place. Was there any point to it, or did Capcom just take a dartboard and randomly pick nerfs for Yang that way? Unless I’m mistaken the cross-up was the least of people’s complaints about him…

It was too good for a divekick character imo, very hard to block. One of the few warranted nerfs in my book.

While that may be true, Cammy has a dive-kick and still has a really viable cross-up. Different characters and different kind of dive-kicks, I know…but it still annoys me. I guess I’m somewhat biased because every other character I play has a cross-up. :coffee:

yangs was a bit more ambiguous than cammys. that being said, it was probrably over nerfed

Corner Cross Up on Guile

Must do a rekka combo in corner. Wait til his body touches ground. Than, jump forward into MK Dive Kick. Guile must block it as a non cross up. His flash kick will if he attempts it.
I think it’s pretty helpful. You can combo the dive kick into cr.lk.

Cross Up after Launcher

Good against Zangief, THawk, Abel, Hakan, Blanka, and Rufus. (Rufus and Blanka can avoid it by crouching though).

Yeah, I’m not arguing that the cross up mk wasn’t too good as it was, but the way they fixed it was extremely inelegant.

Cool! I’ll test this out and update the OP, and see if I can find anything else with this. Nice find.

For shotos, mid-screen
BnB clp stlp cmk mk rollkicks
take half step back, jump forward mk will cross up if opponent quick stands
Works on Cammy too, I haven’t really tried it with the other characters. Is there really a difference btw combos ending with mk rollkick? I always assumed they all create the same knockdown distance and timing

They all don’t create the same distance.

Seems like theres no good ways to cross up rose their all very situational.

forward throw in the corner, slightly walk forward, jump mk. crosses up a lot of the cast, forgot who specifically. You can use mk.divekick to hit in front, so it is a pretty solid one. Also, ex.DP, jump, slightly delayed rh.divekick crosses up a lot of people as well.

For crossup divekick setups midscreen I do: Forward throw, dash, jump forward jump mk divekick at top of arc(works on most characters haven’t tested on everyone)

After sweep midscreen(normally after rekkas fadc st.mk sweep as you have to be point blank after dash) Sweep dash nj.mk divekick at almost top of arc.

Hopefully these weren’t already posted, will upload videos showing the timing and some corner ones.

Against Sagat
Forward throw
Lk teleport
Jump mk crosses up at Sagats head
Can’t seem to link to clp after, clk works
