Fixed my problem. Had to reinstall the game. Also as ATG said, we had a lot of disconnects when we tried playing against each other. Delay wise the netcode is really good.

How do you have online but not offline versus? That’s so backwards.

I’m EU, but don’t know if i can get everything setup.

The obvious answer to that is because it’s an MMO first and a fighting game second. The main design to the game is the online aspect. Hopefully they implement offline versus when the full version comes out, but for the sake of beta testing, they need to get their servers, netcode, connections, and everything else in check.

Also, skill trees.

After the incident, the nations in U.N. sent out many professionals to inspect the area, in the meantime the radiation caused a biological mutation. The discovery lead to the surrounding area to be sealed and quarantined. The Peruvian government therefore increased security around the vicinity, as well as the whole country, and also heavily monitor any activities that might happen that happens in the site of impact.
The biological contamination that Messiah caused, later known as EVA, is a new type of substance that is neither organic nor inorganic. In the impact site, the discovery team found a jade-like crystal. Upon experimentation, they discovered the metabolic system for this new life form. During the experiments, the team of scientists that were exposed to this substance were all affected by the radiation that it emits, and they were all diseased. The experiment result shows that the crystals that were discovered on the impact site is a hybrid compound/organism that is smaller than a virus, and it is currently in hibernation. During the experiment the scientist activated the living organism and therefore caused the emission of radiation. Since these organism are smaller than viruses, they infected the scientists body without them knowing, and eventually caused mutation and later death. This incident is later known as the “First Baptism”.
ERD is thus founded: after the First Impact, the scientists in many countries are starting to understand the characteristic of EVA. Although it is a dangerous substance, EVA might be a potential source of energy for the future world; hence many western countries hope to future research and develop this technology. Upon discussion between many organization, ERD was founded in order to further research and develop EVA in hopes to understand the mechanism; and also control the substance. The organization is run by a 13 members committee, which in every 2 years the committee select a leader to lead the organization regarding the functionality, and the leader will report to the committee.
Fung’s Family: Fung came from an ancient Chinese family, for thousands of years this family remains active in Chinese history. They carry an important life mission that is extremely secretive. Right now, Fung represent the newly found economic and political power in Asia. However, Fung was not included in the research of EVA. This fact is unacceptable to the family, as it cannot lose its leadership position in Asia. After a certain incident, Fung used all of their resources to attempt to discover ways to obtain EVA.
The XD Tournament: During the time when Fung expends a huge amount of resources in order to obtain EVA, a small company called “SHINE” appeared, and provided Fung a lot of experimental data and high quality EVA. With the assistance of SHINE, Fung’s research process on EVA quickly matched ERD. The experimental result showed that when EVA and the infected host (human body) has reached an equilibrium, they can coexist. The Human/EVA hybrid cells have a high amount of energy, and if the cells are excited or agitated (either by emotion or other physical means), then EVA potential can be released from the cell, thus giving the host a unique power; such mechanism is called the “awakening”. After this shocking discovery, Fung decided to find the best “host” to “awaken”, and therefore started the XD Tournament in order to search for the perfect candidate. At the same time, ERD realises Fung’s understanding to EVA’s potential, and started to observe this tournament.

I had a rough idea of what the bars were already since they’re tied to characters and you can pretty much compare and say “This guy does more damage than this guy,” and so on and so forth. Knowing what the skills are would help a lot because I really have no idea what I’m throwing points into.

Edit: On the blue page where I activate the beta code, how do I know that I have logged in successfully?

Two different numbers? Did you sign up at QQ and then sign up again at the microblogging thing? You might have just got 2 QQ numbers for no reason. For the beta key, you’re probably going to need google translate on the page or something, because when you enter the code a popup comes up and tells you if you’re activated or not or whether the key has already been used.

Edit: When I log in the webpage says nothing. When I input a code from the webpage again says nothing. How can I know if I’m doing it right or not?

If you’re not getting anything I don’t know what to tell you, something is acting weird and I have no idea what it is. The only thing you can do at that point is just test to see if you can log in to the game.

I’m REALLY pissed at the moment. Their website suddenly stopped working and didn’t approve anything, then when it started working again all the codes were used already. The fuck is this shit? Am I fighting over 10 codes with thousands of bored china men?

Edit: The chinese comments are full of sad people who couldn’t grab one on time either. No wonder they call this service “QQ”

i’ll try and unlock ralfclarkguy next, and maybe take a look at the skill tree - hopefully it doesn’t have too much of an impact / can later once the game “ships” be turned on or off for regular versus. i’m sceptical towards changing the game like this, with people having different versions of characters (could be rewarding “good” players with stronger characters)
