The logic is sound. I bet that MS could have gotten away with making XBL Gold cost $60 a year back when CoD: MW2 hit. They were just being nice.
Also the same month the “Family Plan” is supposed to be released with 4 gold memberships for $100 for one year.

so if you buy an xbox live yearly account for the price now, but don’t activate it until later, would that work? Or should I get 1 year now, activate it (and get whatever I have left PLUS one year)?
^If you bought it you bought it. It’s a code. They can’t go back and try to charge you the difference. Unless you meant buying it from Microsoft now and if that’s the case then once you buy it it’s activated immediately. Regardless, everybody, stock up on gold subscriptions!
Space Invaders Infinity Gene Due Out Next Month!!! Trust me, you’ll love it.

Yeah I read the news about this and bawked at this a bit. Yeah Microsoft even managed to stomp out the DS last month in sales IIRC but still this really makes me lift an eyebrow at this tactic. Like someone said earlier people are gonna really start taking a closer look at Sony’s system since the more money you’re paying for it the more unjustified that price is. Yeah Hulu and ESPN are great but me personally…I’m not really going to use that. Instead I wish they could have set it up so that the people who really want all those extra features and stuff would have to pay more but instead I’m picturing the Microsoft roundtable of people with the head hocho rubbing his hands together going ‘mwee hee hee!’. Then you got Playstation Plus which is still going at 49.99 right now. Meh…I’m not digging the decision at all even from a business stand point currently. Oh well looks like I’m gonna have to stock up on a couple of year cards before that price hike.
Someone mentioned an improved d-pad.
I said that microsoft didn’t care.
Let’s see if this rumor pans out.
I think my manager at the gamestop conference that’s going on right now mentioned something about this to me…I’ll have to ask him again about it.

Damn, so it looks like SNK is only going to be porting KOF Sky Stage to XBLA after all. I was hoping that delaying Sky Stage meant they would instead port Neo Geo Heroes. Still, better than nothing I suppose.
EDIT:
Wow, that was fast confirmation, lol. Unfortunately, the controller won’t be available stand-alone just yet.
Vanquish demo is slick as fuck. The controls take some getting used to, but they work great when you get the hang of it. The only problem I had with it is it being 30 FPS, which will probably be 60 FPS when the retail game comes out. It still looks nice at 30 FPS w/ motion blur though.
Heard y’all are suppose to be paying more for online. I’d hate to be you.
shrug Not really going into PS3 war terrioty, but I can’t help but wonder if part of the price raise also hasto do with PSN wanting money now as well…
The only ffree online system is the Wii…which is IMO a joke anyways…

Pinball FX 2 Preview: The Pinball You’ve Known All Your Life | Joystiq
First Summer of Arcade and now Game Feast? If the latter also becomes an annual promotion then XBLA is beasting the digital distribution market pretty hard right now.
Anyways, free update to OG Pinball FX with revamped physics? I like the sound of it already.

Like you said, not to get into a fanboy war, but just to clarify, the PSN+ premium fee is strictly optional.
PlayStation Network - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Online play is and, according to their representatives, will remain free. With PSN+ you get a bunch of free games, exclusive access to software, avatars, etc, and pretty hefty discounts on quite a bit of the available products on PSN. Content cycles roughly every two weeks.
There’s a very large difference in the two products (XBL Gold and PSN+). Personally, I’ve bought a year of PSN+ (1.25 years technically, I guess), but I stopped paying for ad-supported online play on my 360 a while back. My purchase of PSN+ has pretty much paid for itself within the first few months in free games.
Currently, the only platform that doesn’t have free online is the X360.
do you easily get offended by everything and jump to a conclusion behind a person’s meaning ? What’s with people on the internet automatically assuming the negative? How come I couldn’t possibly have a message of sympathy behind that? How could the message not possibly been read as if I was an Xbox live user and I was already paying $50 a year for a service and had to pay $60 I would hate it as I’m already a stingy person as is? That would tick me off. How could it also not be a random non-sensible reason? Jumping to conclusions all the time isn’t good. Instead, try asking what did you mean by that. That will prevent negative emotions from getting the best of you.
