^I’m sorry bro. I’m still on my first one personally. Been upgrading the hard drive as time permits (granted I have one of the newer chip sets but that not the last chip set before the Slim came out).
I’ll be really disappointed if the next xbox is body exploding awesome graphically and if things such as cock blocking used games pans out they smh.
Only thing I’m really mad at Microsoft about is how it has treated the indie marketplace. It should have been like Apple’s App store but it’s not. Microsoft just doesn’t have the focus to be a leader anymore I swear. It’s either do what everyone else is doing or try to innovate but never reeeeally follow through with it. We get lucky every so often when a new product or service actually does work and is worthwhile. I’m not saying “FUCK MICROSOFT” but I am saying, live up to the potential that your lakes of money allow you to.
Eye popping graphics are nice but in thinking about the overall big picture…I’m worried. We’re already paying 60 bucks a pop for games as is and with the increase in power and what not that’s going to come with this next generation plus the more amount of time that goes into making them it will pretty much effect a lot of different things.
Im not that into graphics, but one thing I want from the next gen consoles is 60FPS standard.
Am I the only person who thinks before he buys anything game related “okay this is cool but will it still be cool or even work decades from now?” Then again 3ds is future proof enough for me.
Speculating on the next generation of consoles lost it’s fun for me last time, I guess it was all that nintendo revolution bullshit.
I want Amalur badly, like Million said it really looks like it tries to combine the adrenaline rush of an action game with the nerdy stat crunching of an rpg but I don’t even have TOR so Amalur is a ways away from purchase.

aha! It actually let me get online awhile ago, so I could get in a little bit of Horde time for Gears 3. Solo Normal with “Must Active Reload” mutator, I made it to Wave 20 on “Old Town” thanks to my new “Silverback ALL DAY” philosophy/strategy. Sheeeit, I had so much money left over though it was ridiculous, so I eventually bought other things like a blue laser barrier, razor-wire barrier in another place and a Hammer of Dawn command center.
I’m still not sure how it is even possible for a person to beat a Berserker boss wave solo though (at least on Normal and up)…there’s just no way. If Berserkers even breathe on you it’s over. That’s why wave 20 was the end of the line tonight.
I read it was based off the HD 6670. There is like… 0% chance it will be based off a 6990 seeing as the HD6990 is a $700 dual GPU card. Basically super high end enthusiast stuff that will still cost more than an xbox whateveritiscalled in 2013.
Then there’s the whole deal with the majority of the HD 6000 series just being re-branded 5000 series cards that don’t actually have as good performance (they have other benefits that are important for consoles though)… They should have used HD 6770 IMO, but I guess that the HD6670 will do.
What needs to be mandatory is FXAA/SMAA. There is no reason not to use FXAA/SMAA on the next gen consoles for most (if not all) games, shit like anisotropic filtering should be mandatory too. FXAA/SMAA is like the magic solution to all the aliasing problems. Sure, it’s not as nice as the other more powerful anti-aliasing methods, but the amount of FPS that you sacrifice for a substantially nicer looking environment (no jaggies all over the place) is well worth it (2-3 FPS tops). Seeing as this could be optimized even further for consoles, there really is no excuse.

real talk I think they keep trying to further hide the indie marketplace in the new dashboard, I feel like it takes like 50 selections to get there.

How is flirt?
Xbox indie game… has any1 bought the full game?
For the most part, there is a bunch of videos where people just play the trial and get mad, lol
I still visit the Indie marketplace from time to time and I don’t really find a problem with it. Why shouldn’t Microsoft promote their stuff first? The indie section is only 2 or 3 clicks away. If someone can’t find it than they probably don’t give a damn anyways. Personally, I think a lack of coverage by various gaming sites is more of an issue than the section being 1 more click away now than it was 3 months ago. The majority of those games aren’t even worth 80 points.

I will say Hypership Still out of Control was probably not enough of an upgrade over hypership out of control to be worthwhile, I still don’t mind having both

The only indie game that I thoroughly enjoyed on the marketplace was Sequence. Man, it was really worth 240 points.

Whoever tries to excuse Microsoft for it’s treatment of the indie marketplace is foolish. They fucked it up period. They didn’t spend the time and resources to make it the console version of the Apple app store like it should have been. If they did they probably would have had a huge head start with games for Windows Phone.

I did a count, I have 37 indie games on my hd, probably regret about five of them, they are honestly my favorite part of the console and what puts it ahead of the ps3 (where their mini library does have a couple gems but is really anemic and feels kinda garbagey)
