Hey guys, after i managed to make destroy my old Hori EX2 PCB i decided to wire a xbox 360 controller to my arcade stick.
It was quite some work but in the end all buttons worked fine on my pc emulator, then i tried it on my xbox and i ran into some trouble. The buttons worked good but the movement was broken… at first i didn’t know why but after plugin it back to my computer and checking the gamecontroller i noticed that the left analog stick was constantly pointing to the lower left corner.
I tried to remove as much as possible from the analog stick
Here is a picture of the PCB

The marked spot is the backside of the analog stick. I found out that it has alot to do with the marked spots (A1/2/3 B1/2/3) but i can’t exactly tell how it works.
I wonder if it is enough to cute the line i marked blue?
My goal is to remove the left analog stick completly or atleast to have it stay in the center all the time.
My DualShock stick did that too. What I did is just wiggle the stick a bit and it recentered. If you play with it until it’s centered and then mount it well, you should be good.
Yeah, the thing is that i removed the potentiometers so i cant control it anymore…
While I do not know exactly how analogs work,

I dunno, the “must” in all caps makes it seem like simply breaking the circuit isn’t a good idea.
Thanks for the link, it seems that i really have to use resistors to ‘‘centre’’ the analog stick
When i understand it correctly it should look something like this
and the resistors should be above 4,x K (doesn’t seem to matter that much they just should have the same values)
can anyone confirm this?
Yes, the schematic above works fine. You can also link the common pin of two resistors to the middle point of the other “analog stick” (its holes on the PCB in fact)
Today i bought some 10k resistors and soldered them to the pad it looks like this

this should be right shouldnt it? this is the place where the left analog stick was sitting, but it still points down left, the funy thing is when i put a resistor to the middle hole of the upper row and touch the other end with my finger or something the stick will point down left instead of right…
any further advice?
