Xbone Padhack Triggers

Wasn’t really getting anywhere in the other thread so I figured start my own and see if anyone can help haha.

I recently tried to padhack a first party xbone controller, most of it is working, except for the triggers.
Feel like they’re hooked up properly as I’ve followed the most common setup (i.e. 100ohm resistor in the positive line coming off the pcb and which points it’s connected to).
Sadly they don’t seem to be working still, a friend tried testing with a multi-meter and it seemed to get an input going from the solder I’d added to the board to the grounding pin on the back of the button, but no other times.

My PCB feat. messy as hell wires.

Right Trigger: it’s not soldered over the IC here, it just hangs over, cause these are a bitch to solder.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated, I have no idea why it isn’t working and really just want to play my KI and BB happily :frowning:

I’ve noticed some people have been soldering to the R42/C38 & R39/C36 instead of the hall sensor.
Is that correct?
And if so, are you just soldering straight over the top of those little boxes (unsure what they actually are)? And what resistance do I need in a resistor for it?

Okay, so, I’ve tried soldering to the lower points and still no luck.
I’ve just sprayed my box, so the wires are everywhere, and I noticed, when the positive wire for another button touched my RT positive I got a signal on my Z-axis (using the windows configurer to test the setup).
I didn’t get the same reaction for the LT, touching it to LT lit up the button I was touching the wire of to LT. Update: There was a bit of solder that ended up joining the tops of the R39/C36 points which was inhibiting the LT from working the same way.

Not sure what to make of this.

Again, any insight would be greatly appreciated, I just want my triggers working hahaha.

Well I did it.
Got it about two weeks ago now but just got back around to posting in case any one else ever needs this info.

Once I soldered my wires across the R42/C38 & R39/C36 respectively, they still weren’t working, assumedly there wasn’t enough juice going to them to do what they needed to.
So I did as was suggested elsewhere and ran some wire from the TP8 & TP9 3.3v sources respectively to the wire connecting the buttons to the PCB, with a 10kohm resistor in both lines with one side soldered to the TP8/TP9 and the other the button-to-board wire as not to overload the circuit.

It’s been working solidly for about 2 weeks now and I can finally enjoy my BlazBlue and Killer Instinct, now if only BB:Central Fiction was on Xbone, Q_Q.
