Well…as expected I didn’t get to show up but I heard shit got messed up during the tournament. Like 3rd Strike tournament starting pretty late and people having to ask the guys at X30 to actually get the tournament started. I heard the AC was pretty crap (sweaty palms FTL) and games weren’t accommodated for number of players. Slash had 8 players in the tournament and 2 tv’s for casuals. 3S only had one tv for casuals and nearly 30 people showed for that game (supposedly a lot of pad scrubs came). Exodus actually showing up at a local outside of C3 is amazing. Heard J.Wong couldn’t make it.
you’re mistaken if you think i only exlcusively go to c3. the only reason i’ve been to the past 3 c3s is because i’ve been able to get off from work. i only work on the weekends, so calling off more than 1 weekend a month is foolish.
x3o was fun…saw a lot of old faces. it definitely could’ve had a bigger turnout because a lot of players were missing still, but it was a reasonable amount of players for a local. the heat was PAINFUL. i don’t know about the other tournaments, but 3S had 2 TVs throughout most of the day (except for early early casuals). i didn’t particularly agree with the random seeding/no floating, but i guess if that’s how it is then that’s how it is. silly snookums putting people in the wrong places

My only complaint was the heat and the tight space. But that comes with the season. I’d be complaining more about the cold if it were winter.

Oh…interesting results. Good to see someone beat out the local champ. Too bad I couldn’t have been there to get my money matches in. My friend and I are looking to start up some local tournaments at the venue as well so we’ll see what happens.

I dont think the heat was too controllable. I can’t speak for x3o but it seems that last month, over 70 player came out, and the tempeture was very cool.
This month about 50 players came out, and it was really hot. I think it was because of the outside temperture. Every 5 seconds someone is coming in/out of the door. I may be wrong, but thats what I think it was.
I had a good time. Sorry the 3s tournament didn’t start at 3. We just wanted to make sure everyone who was coming was accounted for. We had a ton of late entry’s but I think everything worked out, and in the end it was a sucess.
I had fun in 3s. I want to play Steve Harrison 1st round next tournament if that is ok with him (BTW does he post here?)

yeah tourney was good… but did not want to stay any longer not cuz of the heat. i just had things to take care of. nice to see old faces… good times… have fun at the next tourney

Nah…I don’t think Steve posts. You are right about the whole door thing. If people keep opening the door in 90 degree weather in a small place like that the heat will take control quickly.
all except for the heat the tourny was ok… wanted to see justin and brandon/ Dhyo go at it though… and the randomness of the seatings was bad a noob like me never should of played jinmaster first round in tekken and josh wong second round somone hates me… n alex pei first in 3s (wtf!!!) but that how shit goes you go home n practice more that bout it… jinmaster i want to appologize for my dickhead remarks to you after our match the heat was gettin to me the long ass drive got to me n gettin the top seed first round just flat out blew… good shit though thanks for the experiance hopefully my friend can get out their next time it will be a really good match. next time ill take at least a match instead of a round though

Damon i didnt mean to upset you and getting their on time was kinda on me becuase i had to bring Dhyo, damian, and josh wong… along with my friend matt and henry who also drove and we had to wait on damian for his reason only… so we couldnt leave philly till 12 im sorry we were late but i didnt wanna leave and not bring damian considering i told him a week before i would bring him… dont worry bout the ac thing it was just a small factor from the ride that we had to take rofl… i am gonna try to make it out to the next x3o tourny that was fun.
kyle - the way tournaments work is the worst players face the top players the very first round. so since you admit to not being good, facing jinmasta isn’t an uncommon thing…but the seeding was completely random (for 3S anyway), so what im saying is only trivial.
The tight space comment from me wasn’t really a complaint. It wasn’t actually bad at all, we had plenty of room, it’s just that everyone seemed to gravitate toward the screens, and we were all packed together near the TV’s. So, people were shuffling around and bumping into each other, which made it feel a little packed. And I personally have a problem with crowded places, so don’t mind me. I doubt anyone else had a problem with the space.

i understand how tournaments work what you fail to realize is that i knew i would be getting jinmaster first round for tekken wen i went i told brandon/dhyo that earlier in the week i have no problems playing good people because i only benefit from it. my problem lies in the fact that i know i can produce better results then i did thats all… i will get better like i said im just starting out i got plenty of time for evo’s next year. for now i just wanna keep goin to tournys and get experiance i cant just sit and play the same people over and over again because i am only adapting to their style of play compared to everyother player out their… trust me if their a tourny close by i will be their competing
