Hi, I’d like to know if the x360 controller is ok to play SF4

where i live i don’t have any store to buy controllers, and I can’t import. My best option is the x360 controller. But the x360 controller doesn’t have 6 butons on the face like the mad catz one.

So this is bothering me, it’s an ok controller to play? I never played on a x360 before :confused:

your xbox will destroy your copy of sf4 if you try to play with an xbox ocntroller

of course it’s ‘ok’ whether or not it’s your preference doesn’t matter if you have no other choices.

I don’t have a xbox in fact. I’m thinking about buying just the controller to play SF4

Should run fine, it’s Windows-certified or some shit.

Buy a wired controller. There cheaper, and the wireless controllers require the Xbox Wireless Gaming Receiver to work on PC (which means shelling out more cash). Other than that you just need to install the drivers (Windows Update can do it automatically).

Oh, and yes they work absolutely fine. As long as SF IV supports controllers (which it will) then you will be able to use it.

I’ll probably just use my Saturn USB pad and joy2key.

what about the buttons, it’s hard to apply the combos because of the 2 buttons on the top of the controller or its fine?

If you buy the wireless controller which is marketed and labeled for the pc, it includes the wireless receiver and a disc with the drivers. I’m not sure how much the cost is in relation to a standard wired controller or a wireless controller, but I’m sure it is reasonable. I’d probably go with a wired as well if its on a PC.

edit:

The buttons probably won’t be a big problem. You’ll most likely have a hard time using the dpad or analog stick to control your movements… the dpad is very sloppy and the analog stick is bad for obvious reasons.

If the basic, mass-market pads are your only options, you’re much better off buying a PS3 controller, imo. The x360 pad is pure shit for street fighter. The dpad is totally garbage, so much so a lot of people use the analog stick. Analog for SF is pure fail.

Will it function? Sure. Will you like it? Doubtfully. I’d rather not play SF than play on an x360 pad.
