Get back to me when any comic movie “respects” the source material. They should just focus on being good movies rather than fanservice.

Fox only hired Singer after Vaughn dropped out.
Vaughn seems not to be interested in doing sequels in general; he dropped out of both the Kick Ass sequel and this.
Vaughn also dropped out of X3 partly into production so while talented he seems aflighty -
While Vaughn did great job IMO with FC, Singer has a co-story credit and was a producer.
Its not like FC was fully devoid of Singer.
None of the X-Men movies were great. McAvoy is a decent actor, but Xavier? Same for J Lawrence. Just blow the whole thing up after this movie and completely start over with a new cast.

Then again, this is just marketing for a magazine. Photographer must have just told them to “Strike a pose” w/o knowing anything about X-men.

but remember alot of comic stuff…i have a feeling this is on some astral projection shit. they havent touched his other crazy abilities in the movies yet.

Captain America, Thor, Avengers, and Iron Man to an extent have done this so yeah.
Yeah, and as we’ve seen before, that doesn’t always work. Unless this movie makes absolutely NO money, which won’t happen, and is so bad that no one wants to touch it, they have no reason to blow it up.
They were shit due to his absence, not the other way around.
An extent? If that’s all that’s needed then all comic movies do that. But again, it’s only to an extent. The difference with most Marvel movies compared to other comic adaptations is that they realize not to make the integrity of the movie suffer just to make a certain aspect of the character from the comic more faithful. Where other movies fail is not where they mess up the adaptation, it’s where they’re bad movies period.
I was speaking more so to Iron Man when I said to an extent because of the whole Mandarin situation.
The other movies though have done a damn good job of respecting the source material.

I doubt it if only because he never was outright connected to the sequel projects to begin with and was out before the meddling could set in. You could give him credit for maybe being wise as to the shit that would’ve went down if he stayed but it wasn’t like he sent in a script and it was rejected or vice versa. Not to mention X3 and KA2 were bad movies for completely different reasons.
But again, it also helps that said source material lends itself to being a decent movie. I’d rather producers take a shot with a change to the source material if they believe they’ll make a better movie out of it rather than stick with something that wouldn’t work even if they tried. Like, let’s be honest, the comic Mandarin would not have worked for Movies. Now as to whether the IM3 Mandarin shit was a good idea or not is something that will be debated forever but I’ll give them credit for at least trying and not going for the cheap “Ah screw it, if this is going to suck, we’re putting all these other characters and try to hide it with fanservice” that DoFP seems to be doing.
