It was implied that Trask experimented on numerous mutants like Angel,Azazel in the time between First Class and Days of Future Past.You see Blue Mystique’s reaction to their autopsy pics earlier in the movie.

DAYUM! I knew I was forgetting something…kind of a bitchass move to kill about half the cast introduced in First Class because of reasons (or maybe to make for more Wolverine screen time). So much for character development!
I’ve been a massive hater of the Fox X-men: I hate the fact that Mystique is some mentor figure, i don’t like the misrepresenting roster by inserting Quicksilver as a main team member, i think Archangel looks gay… but i have to admit that the trailers look pretty good and i will be watching this movie.
Why does Archangel have no blue skin anyway??? Instafail…
Perhaps they thought NC, Beast, and Apoc were enough blue characters?
J Law does not count IMO as a blue character.

All signs point to him and Psylocke being mute henchmen who do cool action and have little relevance to the plot.
Magnus and probably storm will be the most prominent of the four, since MAGNUS and Storm has to turn to the light side at the end.
If they make Psylocke mute it’d be one of the few smart things they’ve done.
