X-MANIA XIII 3on3 teams 2012/8/26 2PM Sunday (Tokyo time)

Well that’s because Dic has the highest “unknown” variable in his matchup, alongside Hawk. One good knockdown into ambiguous cross-up will win the round and/or the game for him. Something that is very powerful in this single elim format, even in team settings.

Kurahashi has been pretty strong lately and consistently showing up to weeklies. Hakase is long considered to be one, if not THE, strongest sim in Japan currently, and Noguchi has always been an extremely strong and aggressive Fei player. Not to mention their team combination seems to cover each other’s bad matchups very well. In a tourney setting like this, I’d have to give the nod to teams that have the best combination of characters, which is this team imo.

But a WHOLE lot of strong teams and players on that x-mania list. It should be extremely fun and exciting to watch.

My bet is definitely on Kurahashi’s team if Noguchi goes with Claw. The MAO team is bonkers too, and more than a handful of other teams are filled with absolute killers. How many more teams will there be, bunch of top active players still absent. I see Aniken and Otochun on XBL almost every morning wondering if they will show up. Also, possible Komoda team?

(edit: silly grammar mistakes)

okafei vs nakamura etc

nahashi or okafei fucked up nuki’s team at around 45:00 hahaha
Sasori (Ryu) / Sashishi (Ryu) / Nuki (Chun-Li)

Shun Joker told me he was playing in X-Mania. Anyone know what his offline name is? I would like to root for him.

The team that won this (shinshin boxer, hanma s ken, souzou fei long) doesn’t appear on the xmania list but there’s no reason to not see them participate. They did very well and they will be strong contenders.

It was Sousou against Keishin/Nuki/Sashishi. He was on fire he also ocv’d Okafei team (along with Numa).

Edit: Damn i had forgotten how fuckin’ good Teppei guile is!

Edit2: Also Mattsun/Kurahashi/Yuuvega DO WANT!

anyone figured out shun joker’s offline name yet?

Is this guy Hammer, the guy who played at the first Japanese ST tournaments (wa around since WW)?

many people said he’s shun, the boxer player. but i have never seen him use boxer on ggpo.

if he indeed mains ryu, then SHIRO (white in japanese) matches his profile with the HF color ryu.

The o ken is hammer. But idk about the first jp st tournament.

looks like casuals are up on the stream

And my pick takes it all!

Also YuuVega got 2nd so im more than happy.

1st - Sasori (Ryu) / Sashishi (Ryu) / Nuki (Chun-Li)
2nd - YuuVega (Dictator) / AFO (Blanka) / Adachi (Boxer)
3rd - Muneo (Sagat) / Akabura (Blanka) / Hanashi (O. Fei Long)
4th - babynine (E. Honda) / Okafei (Fei Long) / TZW (Guile)
5th - Yoshiwo (Guile) / Tonegawa (Cammy) / Gii (Dictator)
5th - Kurosu (Fei Long) / Choujin (Ken) / Degu (Guile)
5th - KKY (Dhalsim) / Kikai (Guile) / Gunze (Zangief)
5th - Murasaki (Dictator) / ??? (Ryu) / ??? (Dee Jay)

They are still streaming exhibition matches! Mattsun vs YuuVega now!

can someone link the video to the finals?

The craziest thing for me was clearly babynine OCV’ing kurahashi, noguchi and hakase ! One of the absolute strongest teams wiped out by a honda a player, that’s truly amazing. Shame we only got to see the last match against hakase on the stream.

Baby Nine is sick. I play him on Xbox and he’s pretty much as good as Kusumondo to me.

Who took out the Mao team?

Yuuvega’s team took out Mao’s team. Adachi defeated Mao and Ito, lost to Opemai, but AFO took him out after.

I put a battle log of the matches they had on stream here:

wow mikado didn’t record any of the matches and archive them. I don’t think it’s worth the trouble to release a dvd and try to sell it. there’s just not enough people buying it to worth their while.

some of us should have recorded it -_-

Damn I missed this
