Only thing really good about x-arcades are the cases. Everything inside needs to be thrown out and replaced, and be sure to fix that wonky button configuration on the face too.
I just have my 6 face buttons w/start & select relocated to the front and side.
Something similar happened to me but I waited too long to return it now I’m stuck with it. I bought mine a couple months ago and still haven’t recieved my ps3 adapter
@anyone thinking of buying this pos for anything other than qbert
If I could give some helpful advice to anyone thinking of buying one of these it would be to not spend your hard earned $ on this pos. You might be thinking that next day delivery is pretty sexy but after you do some research you’ll end up finding out that your not going to get what you paid for and it’s NOT going to get there “next day”, because they don’t have the adapters in stock, etc. You might be able to return it but if you are unlucky enough not to be in that position then mod away. I just put in some happ competitions and I am waiting for two chutlulus and happ comp push buttons. I will post some pictures when it’s done. Not looking forward to the glued mess for the buttons tho.
i have the solo x arcade and i had it for almost 4 yrs… it works great… until sf4 came out… i need more better parts so i order from ebay… a happ competition joystick and 6 competiton convex push buttons… what i’ve been reading it works better then it is now… and if u want it to work for the 360 get the XFPS adapter… it works great…
been reading this thread for a while. I picked up a x-arcade dual for use on my modded original xbox that I use mainly for emulation and messing around. I was looking to replace the sticks and buttons for astetics reasons really. I have been use to the Japanese parts for so long I wasn’t sure if I really wanted to use HAPP parts.
My thoughts were 2 options
1 - use the IL stick with competition HAPP push buttons
2 - fit a Sanwa JLW (bat top) into the case just as one user did in a post above along with OBSF-30 buttons.
I realize that the sanwa stick takes a little bit of work to get t to fit which i’m fine with but how about the buttons?
Should I just stick with the HAPP parts or attempt the Sanwa parts?
First of all, I don’t think the wood panel is thin enough for snap-in buttons so it’s best to use OBSN-30s which are screw-ins. Second, to get them to fit you’ll have to increase the hole size from 28.5mm to 30mm which to me seems like a lot more work than it is worth.
Also you’ll need to find a way to fit a router in there for both the Stick and Buttons. Most likely you will have to completely disassemble the box. IMO just keep it American. My x-arcade solo is my American stick with Competition parts. With the PS3 (w/ og xbox) adapter in BETA I think it will remain this way.
yeah thanks for the feedback…seems like thats the best approach. I’m still tempted to try the JLW…i just wish there were more color options with the HAPP buttons.
