I can make a copy of tetris attack happen… nothing official, but casual is doable.
Not to sound like a dick or anything but I think if you guys came to one of our tourneys you’d be very impressed. Sure the venue is a tavern but not like your run of the mill La Crosse dive bar. I’m from La Crosse so believe me I’m very familiar with 3rd Street. I tell you what Ben you come to one of our tourneys out here. Sometime between now and December and I’ll personally load my Durango up with Milwaukee players and drive them to your tourney in December. Put your money where your mouth at. I know you dropped 2 g’s on this tourney for the 24th right? Surely it wouldn’t be a problem to drive from Southwest Wisco to Southeast Wisco right balla?
fortunately madison has some of the best 3d players IN THE COUNTRY. But yeah for 2d there are only a handful of people.
Karen not being in super 4 was really disappointing, same with Rainbow not being in it. Ono wanted to add her but it just didn’t happen. Kind of sad that she hasn’t been in a game past alpha 3, however not seeing Karin come back was really surprising, considering how popular she is. At least she was in CFJ but that game was garbage.
LOL @ spending 2 thousand just to run a regular local, when the cost to run any other local is like… zero. I’ve never had to pay to run a tournament EVER, and I’ve run about 2 dozen over 5 years. What the mother fuck could that money be going to anyway? I understand that there is no venue fee either but neither is there one at the Tracks, they let the matts set up there for no cost. I just can’t wrap my head around that whatsoever.
If the fight night goes down next week I’ll be there and will play A2 for sure. Also I think it will be a good idea to run another mock sf4 tournament like how we did before the last Tracks tournament. Just using 1 TV of course so that there will still be room for casuals.
Oh yeah regarding Tetris attack tournament, that shit would be hype. Of course the only proper way to play the game would be to play the OG version for the SNES. I consider myself halfway decent at that game but Sylvia constantly kicked my ass in that game, for real. She would beat me like 5 times in a row and just be like… “I’m bored” and just get up. The only way I could possibly beat her is if the rounds drug out for like freaking ever, seriously.
My bad on spending money?
We’ll that’s quite the opposite of “no gaming community”. Where I do want to stick to 2D fighters I wouldn’t mind checking out Tekken 6 for sure. Although I’m unsure if Madison is more SC (do people still play SC4?) or if they play a lot of Tekken as well. I’m sure spurring interest for SF at a Tekken tourney would at least be worth a try. Either way I’ll stop babbling about a Madison scene for now, hopefully I can get into Milwaukee and get some games in with everyone this next semester.

the last 2 times i went up there to play calibur we also had sf4 tournies but that was last year
the guy who runs most of the tournaments i think is still in korea but when he comes back i’m sure things will be back to normal
so i just got back from my place and its totalled. no carpet is left so its just concrete, and they punched holes in all the walls to find the cracks in the foundation or something and there was mold on the inner walls, and all my furniture and consoles and stuff were just kind of shuffled all over, but i think they are fine otherwise. the landlord gave us cash for a hotel for 2 days, but there is plenty of time in the month and it pretty much is unliveable. so unfortunately we can’t have a fight night again until i move, and i’m super bummed about it. but i’ll see you guys on the 24th!
Jerry you don’t realize what your apartment did for the scene in Milwaukee. Without you bro there’d be no 3s, MK2,NGBC,SSF4,TVC,A2,reviveal. I definitely have nothing but the utmost respect for you.

just wanted to explore and see if there is a fighting game scene here in the Mil…let alone for SSF4. Ive played vanilla for about a year now and then of course made the jump to Super. I’ve always lurked on these boards, but never really had the urge to create an account and post on the forums. I’m not the greatest player so it was kinda intimidating for me…lol. I decided to lurk even more and lo and behold, to my delight…I stumble across a thread dedicated to Wisconsin players.
I’d like to get better, post some more and just play some good players here in Milwaukee. Im usually home on the weekends (summer school at UW-Parkside) and will be home in August. Then back to school in September. I’ll do my best to check out that tourney on the 24th…seems like it’s around the Riverwest area, right?
Anyways, Im getting long-winded with the intro…I hope to get better at fighting games as a whole (especially SF)…and hope to be able to play some of yall when Im in the Mil! oh, I main Blanka…Im a decent scrub…and Im experimenting with the other cast to find other characters I like. so far, I enjoy Juri and Ibuki, but I suck still with them…lol.

ahhh…ok. perhaps…but I could always use the EXP fighting a better Blanka offline. as long as I can get better…(sorry if my humility is boring…lol).
Come on Blanka really isn’t that bad in super, or ST, or any other game he’s in (except CvS2). You just have to accept the fact that he can mix you up in close range and you’re not going to guess right all the time. You just have to find ways to play vs him, it’s not really that bad.
Anyway cut the bullshit already with the LaCrosse tournament. It’s too bad that only like 1 or maybe a couple people are going to drive all the way out to western Wisconsin but honestly it probably wouldn’t have happened in the first place for most of the Milwaukee players. So just chill out already, we already know about your tournament and spamming it over and over again, not to mention the way you are insulting the Milwaukee players for being too broke as being the reason to not want to go out there is getting tiresome. I already have it listed on the first post, and you have a thread in the tournament section. Everyone here knows what is going on. If you are upset that no one is talking about it in here, I don’t know what to tell you.
TL;DR version : You could try associating yourselves with everyone else here as normal humans being for once.
This thread isn’t just for Milwaukee players of course, but a majority of us play there so you’re going to have to get used to it if you see most of us talking about what is going in the area where we are concentrated.
