It’s Just me and Tim (bedfast emperor) we had like an 8 hour session the other day. neither of us on here much but yeah if anyone wants to get games in matt (footmeetskull) usually comes down here every other friday
Alright I’m gonna go ahead and get the Tuesday Fight Nights tournament schedule and rules posted up here real quick. I’ve decided to just go with SNK and Capcom fighters for now. The schedule will consist of 5 games from each company. Again, participation is not mandatory however keep in mind 2 things:

It will be free, with no money at stake.

Most of the games are accessable via emulators, in other words if you have a PC you will be able to practice a bit in your own time to familiarize yourself.
I tried to pick out things that I know at least a few people play so that if you want to learn more about the game there is pretty much someone at every fight night that can help you learn more about each game. Also I feel since these will generally be smaller tournaments, hopefully the Matts can step up and get some more experience running brackets so in case I am not available for the Tracks tournaments that they will know what to do.
Anyway without further-to-do I present
MILWAUKEE FIGHT NIGHTS : CAPCOM VS SNK SEASON 1

When : Every fight night (starting this coming Tuesday, Aug 3)
Location : Varries, just keep an eye on this thread for details
Rules : Each tournament is of course, free to enter. We will run 2 games a night announced ahead of time. The first 4 games will be selected by me, while the 5th night will be put to a vote. We will run 1 Capcom and 1 SNK game a night. Brackets will be set up and we will begin either one or both of the tournaments at 7PM to make sure everyone can make it on time.
All tournaments will be run double elimination style, same rules, 2/3 rounds, 2/3 matches, winner keeps the same characters or team for that set, winner can change team order or ultras or supers, as it applies to each game. Feel free to use any control scheme you wish for buttons, certain boss characters will be banned depending on the game. Brackets will be completely random to disallow favoritism, either by using a computer or just random numbers. Pretty straightforward rules.
Scoring (ranbat points) : Each person who enters will receieve ranbat points depending on how they place in each particular game, and it will also depend on how many people enter that game. The scoring will be very simple and be done as follows:
If you win a tournament that 8 people enter, you will receieve 8 points. If you get 2nd, you will receive 7 points. If you get 3rd, you will receive 6 points, and so on. In other words, even if you go 2 and out, you will receieve 1 point.
Game schedule :
Part of this was already announced, and week 5 will be selected by the players. I tried hard to get a wide variety of games during season 1. Anyway, here is the line up:
WEEK 1
CAPCOM : Street Fighter 3 : Third Strike (PS2)
SNK : King of Fighters 98 (AKA OG 98) (360 or PS2)
WEEK 2
CAPCOM : Vampire Savior (PS2)
SNK : Samurai Shodown 2 (360 or PS2)
WEEK 3
CAPCOM : Street Fighter Alpha 2 (PS2)
SNK : Fatal Fury : Real Bout 2 (PS2)
WEEK 4
CAPCOM : Super Street Fighter 4 (360)
SNK : Garou Mark of the Wolves (360 or PS2)
WEEK 5
CAPCOM : TBA
SNK : TBA
The schedule should be week after week however, as this is NOT BEING DONE TO INTERFERE WITH TOURNAMENT GAMES, certain weeks may be delayed due to players wanting to practice for tournaments. For example, I will not run a ranbat the tuesday before the next tournament at the Tracks because I don’t want to get in the way when people will probably be more interested in practicing for an upcoming tournament.
Anyway I think this was pretty straightforward but if anyone has any questions, just let me know and be ready for the first tournament on Tuesday, which will either be at Chunpai’s or at Jerry’s (in other words MAME that shit up…)
Also if you guys have any ideas for the game to be run on week 5 before to post up suggestions so that we can put it to vote. There are still lots of games remaining from Pocket Fighter to Last Blade.
I’m still trying to work out prizes but I will most likely do like a prize for snk side and one for capcom side or just one whoever scores the most points overall.
