So I think tonight will just be casual in whatever but once we get back to fight nights at the new “usual” location aka Jerry’s new place, I would like to continue to run free tournaments every fight night, but get some variety as far as what games are played.
I think the best format will be something like 2 games a night either splitting between old with new, or capcom with snk and other companies. For example like one night we could do a tournament for SF4 and Alpha2, or 3rd strike and a KOF game, etc etc.
Also Chun Pai suggested doing a random tournament at the Tracks and I just feel like it would be too much work to constantly change up games, but I think one of the fight nights would be a better venue for this type.
Of course everything will be free for everyone attending fight nights but I would also like to do some kind of point or tracking system to get people to come out to the fight nights more consistantly and have a reason to come back each time they can.
The last thing I want to do is interfere with the people who just come out for one game so obviously I will not be taking up every station with this, probably just 1 or 2 at the most.
Once Jerry gets situated and is ready to start having people over again, I propose that the first tournament of this type be simple, so the 2 games I am chosing will be Street Fighter 3 : 3S on the capcom side and King of Fighters 98 on the SNK side. After that, we can cast a vote on what games people would like to see at the next one.
I’m trying to get this out early so people have a chance to familiarize themselves with each game beforehand. Both of the initial games I chose can be accessed on PS2 and of course on MAME so everyone here should be able to play them.
TL;DR version : At the next fight night I wll be holding a 3S tournament and a KOF 98 tournament.

I don’t own any PS3 sticks right now, I’m just going to use InPin converter + Namco stick to play SSF4 on the PS3 for now.

And I wasn’t talking about random games syxx just random selects in SSF4. We could use the same setup and everything just to keep people playing and on a rotation. Could make for some fun matches, especially if someone draws makoto or Hakan in finals or something. For people to watch when they’re tired of seeing balrog and zangief lol
