Wowzers, had to do a lot of reading from my first post on here.

• I’m happy that Tetris Attack will be there , but sucks that one of out guys isn’t going anymore
• I don’t have any beef with WI and some of my other members don’t. We’re just regular people that would like to play SSF4 respectful and we love video games
• No need for drama…at least from MN and the La Crosse people and between MN and WI
• I won’t deny we might have some guys that might some something unnessary, but not all of them are like that. If they do, I’ll have to talk with them.

That would be my brother, and no way would he BS about Tetris Attack. Evan make sure you have an SNES handy, I will have our copy on hand.

Syxx, I’m glad you aren’t risking anything when you promote a tourney. If I were an unbacked promoter I’d be in the same boat. Fortunately we’ve got a backer who’s willing to pony up money for YOUR SCENE. Why would you shit on a person for doing that? Pretty low brow. In 2 years we’ve went from tiny tournaments in the side room of our store to an 18,000 sq. ft. venue with sponsorships. Promotion costs money… Scene growth costs money. New blood is a good thing right? It’s not like we’re writing out checks to ourselves after all is said and done… Call us idiots if you wish… We ARE losing money on these things; you could also call us a benevolent organization just doing it cause we’d like to see some good ol’ rivalry… MN vs. WI. If people car pooled to LAX it would cost 5-6 dollars a person to show up. So that’s not a real issue.
The tracks event cost you “like nothing” to put on, so postponing would cost “like nothing”.

I think the only reason Milwaukee isn’t showing up is because they’re scared of Minnesota. Real talk.

REAL TALK I may have started the tourney thread a week after you started yours. It was stated in here waaaaaaay before you even started your thread that I was going to hold it on the 24th. I don’t know why your’e so salty about this.

…As far as this whole WI MN rivalry you are trying to capitalize on why didn’t they approach us at MWC? A large portion of us were there. If they really wanted to play us so bad they could have then.

…For someone that spent a shit load of money on a tourney I’d think you’d have a little more business sense than how you are coming off on here. I think it’s great there is a scene building in my hometown. I even stated to you on the phone I wanted to support. I’m flattered at the fact tho that you think Milwaukee not showing up will “ruin” your tourney. I’ve talked with some friends back home that were planning on coming to your tourney and they even said “Why is this gaming gen guy posting like a d bag”? COEXIST OR GTFO that is all.

Rivalry? :shake: I didn’t go to MWC but my other members did. Honestly, we (I) don’t have any issues with WI and we don’t even talk about you guys. I don’t even think we know a lot about you guys too well. The ones I know are the ones from La Crosse. We play for fun, and no drama or trash talk.

The idea of some video game rivalry to me is so stupid. Minnesota has beef with Milwaukee? I’m not so sure I can understand this, especially with the internet figuring so heavily in the gaming community now. They can play anytime against each other.

Maybe these guys from Minnesota have ideas of the Milwaukee guys driving back home, defeated, with tears in their eyes. I don’t think that would happen. That seems like how they think. That wouldn’t happen, they would give a good fight, and even in loss they would probably drive home and stop at that chubby strip club place I see billboards for and look at women’s breasts, and toast beers celebrating their battles, win or lose.

I just can’t understand this internet taunting business, it makes everyone involved in the arguments look so weak. That kind of judgement is covered in dust. It’s time for spring cleaning I think.

I came here with an open mind and respect to everyone. Giving people an option and asking if anyone wanted to come to events in the LaCrosse area, but when you do you just get flamed about it. im not saying by everyone but its a level of respect and willing to look into it. im just here to inform you about upcoming events and suggestions in the past.

Respect is a 2 way street. You have to give a little to get a little.

Yet you guys want us to come to your tourney and then when there is a scheduling conflict you insult the MAJORITY of the players in the state. Yeah so like it seems like what these guys are saying that they want MN vs WI so bad. Sorry but it’s just not going to happen quite yet for 2D. 3D it’s been going on for years and there is some level of respect but on the 2D front there is hardly any relation between MN and WI when it comes to 2D outside of whatever players are in Lacrosse. However for some reason you are trying to drag us into it by saying “we scared” etc, etc. But past that I think what you really want to see is peole from WI come out who can actually beat MN in games at your tournament since obviously the LaCrosse players can’t. I think what we should really be seeing is some kind of LaCrosse vs the rest of Wisconsin rivaly because I can damn sure guarantee if you took the best player of each (still relavent) game from LaCrosse and matched them up with the best player outside of LaCrosse they would lose every time.

You guys want more people to come all the way out there, well so far it seems like we’ve had people from Milwaukee go out there 2 times already and yet you haven’t come to Milwaukee a single time. So I think it’s actually the LaCrosse player’s turn to go outside of thier area, even though they seem to be more interested in riding on the back of the MN player as if they were their own.

If only I still owned a copy. We were playing on Jerry’s copy at his place. I just have my Namco and SF:AC with me. I’m also bringin a bunch of CDs with the SF:AC BradyGames Guide on it for anyone interested in learning 3S from the ground up. The guide is pretty much one of the main reasons I play 3S; super informative for newbs and has a bunch of in-depth stuff for advanced 3S players.

I think we are in agreement here bro. I think this so called rivalry is being made up by this gaming generations guy with the scrubby Guile. He can’t back up his play so he creates some sort of mythical rivalry in hopes that someone else can destroy his enemies for him. It’s all pretty sad and pathetic if you ask me.

Like a monkey at the zoo. Everyone gathers around to see what the monkey is doing, but it always ends up that he’s either pulling his pud or throwing poop around. It’s funny because it’s something we are so far past as human being, you know what I mean?

I think this shit is fantastic. Kumbaya nonsense won’t make a scene get better and more competitive, in fact, I think that kind of hand-holding simply makes people think they’re better than they really are and locks them into a comfort zone. Now, I’m not saying that you have to laugh in a guy’s face when you win, nor am I saying that information shouldn’t be shared, but what I’m saying is that all competitive gamers should have an edge when playing. When you get too friendly and comfortable with your playgroup, nobody innovates, nobody is pushed.

The reason why Dan trolls you newer players so much is because he’s trying to motivate you at getting better. When I get double-perfected by someone, I don’t want to quit, I want to train harder and beat that guy the next time we play. An opponent who coddles you too much after his victory gives you no reason to train harder or play smarter.

When my opponent is trying to link a combo and he misses, I let him know it right then and there. When I get hit by a mistimed combo from my opponent, I let him know that he didn’t execute well even if I got hit. Shit like that shouldn’t be construed as hate or whatever, but competitive advice from someone who may be better.

I think those of you who haven’t been playing fighters for long are still new to the culture and personalities of the FGC. Everyone is cool with one another on a social level, but once the match begins, there should be no friends.

Budowing is so young yet so wise. It’s nice to see someone who has a full comprehention of the situation. It’s true those guys are probably still learning the game and even after all this bitching I know for a fact that even if they manage to make it out to Milwaukee it’ll be fun for them but in the end none of them are going to win.

Also Arsenal is completely right about everything. If you guys don’t realize that you are making mistakes you won’t get better. I won’t give anyone shit about their execution unless I see someone drop something like 3 times in a row (or 100, cough Chunpai) but what I will do is comment that you could have won NOT because of a poor decision, because obviously in Street Fighter in a lot of situations there isn’t just one choice to make but in many situations there IS ONLY ONE and if you don’t do it expect to hear something from me so that you can fix it next time. The reason that it bothers me even more is because you are letting your opponent get away with stuff that they shouldn’t and if you don’t punish them for that then they are going to keep playing wrong as well… and then no one gets better.

Do you have to play super solid all the time?? Hell no especially not in casuals but if you learn to react right to the situations where there is one answer come tournament time you are going to be happy that you came up with the right answers during casuals.

Seriously though I kinda really want to play Alpha lololol. Someone who has a copy please bring it tonight!!!
