The folks over at iPlayWinner.com scooped my digital breadcrumbs up and revealed the EZ BUILD MC Cthulhu to the world. I think I secretly wanted it leaked.
You can pre-order it here: http://jasens.cc/2gKud4e Donāt worryā¦ the wait is short for them to ship out. Just waiting on them to arrive from the assembly house in Florida. I only have a limited number to start out. I expect the next batch right before (or right after) Christmas.
The EZ Build MC Cthulhu is genius.
I know Iāve been wanting something like that for A LONG time; the regular MCC is still an amazing PCB, but with certain āstandardsā in place these days (like the 20-pin connector), a facelift to an awesome PCB is a welcome change.
I didnāt want to include them at all to be honest, but it made more sense to keep them for options. The single row was doable but designing the board properly without a lot of vias was more headache than it was worth. I imagine 90% of the people who use this board will use the 20P header for install either with a dual mod setup or a Panzer 2/3. Additionally, a clever modder can cut the board in half (see the support tab on my site) and make this super small.
@FreedomGundam - When I approached Brook in November of 2014 to create the Universal Fighting Board (remember, they only did converters at the time because they didnāt think a market existed for the UFB) I encouraged them to layout the board just like the PS360+ and provided PCB templates I generated when I designed the Kaimana Khameleon. I knew a standard layout and board would be clutch one day for designers and modders and the PS360+ and 20P just made so much sense for the core functions all of these boards had. When I approached Toodles about doing an MC Cthulhu the grand plan was to follow the standardization path and make it so this would fit in my stick perfectly (and use the internal components designed for it) and be uber compatible with the rest of the stuff out there. I think with a well placed set of hands and soldering tools a UFB/MCC/KAIMANA would make a lovely PCB sandwich inside a stick. Tack a 3 way switcher on itā¦ voila super sick lit stick.
The MC Cthulhu has been painfully lacking a physical update since it was originally released all those years ago, and itās being kept at the same price too. Finally we can all move on with the times.
Hopefully this will also mean a drop in price on the original models at the few places that still sell it.
Canāt wait to get my Panzer. Love the joystick and button layout.
Before I order some parts, how exactly do Semitsu sticks fit in the Panzer 3? Is the flat plate okay or do we also need to pick up Paradise Arcadeās universal plate? I was wondering if the stick would be too short, especially if we have to use the spacer to mount it.
If the stand offs are the same spacing as the Panzer 2.0, Seimitsu S plate will not line up. The Seimitsu RE plate will line up over the stand offs threads, but will not slide over them. I ordered a Paradise plate for my Ms. Pacman cab, it should be here any day now. I can let you know if it will work with the Panzer 2 stand offs, Iām thinking it will.
