Cl. Mp and Cr. Mp are both +5 on hit now I believe so it’s the same link. The link doesn’t feel too hard for me, but that could be because I used Makoto and i do 1frames all the time. Also Cr.mp is +1 on block so it’s better to use in some situations compared to Cl. Mp which is like -1.
Wouldn’t doing St. Lk after B+Mk be better since it’s faster and has about the same range.
definitely not a 1 frame…

If you use the EX here, I’d recommend Reverse Arm Slam instead of Running Jaguar Bomb, it’s about 13 points more damage. If you do it without EX, either the Arm Slam or the RJB will be the same damage.

I cannot get knee to hit post launch for the life of me. In fact, I’m having a lot of trouble doing damage with King now. I’m pretty scrubby but it seems like a lot of times when I’m bringing King in post switch, i pretty much can only get knee c.hp. I wanted to play either Raven/King or Akuma/King but aside from switch canceling off of shoryu into knee’s (which for whatever reason let’s me do two knees where almost all other combos with other characters I’ve tried to make work results in just one knee) I can’t break 400 most of the time. i thought for sure raven’s big damage combos switched into knees would add up but c.hp dosen’t launch high enough and c.hp CADC st.HK only let’s me do a single knee for piddly damage.
I don’t know what I’m doing without knee loops, basically, and I feel awful about it.

Post launch? Doesn’t st.HP -> Revers arm Slam give you or RJB give you like 300 damage aside from launcher? I don’t think the knees will hit normally after a launcher just because they don’t get the hang time or height for you to hit them.
Sometimes you can get a knee after a launcher but really depends on spacing and height. I usually just do St. HP xx RJB. Does good damage.
man cr.mp->cr.lp is way harder then cl.mp->cr.lk no way i can make it a bnb
RASC and RJB do the same damage so you can interchange them depending on how you want to position opp. For example if you have your back to the wall you may want to end the combo with RASC in order to switch sides with the opp.

Its entirely dependent on the character you’re pairing him with. Not all launchers are equal. Some launch high/lower than others and/or have more/less recovery. Knee is easy to land after some, and impossible after others (or so tight that its not worth it).
Jaym they said its more or less the same frames, im pretty sure that st.cl. mp link is easier than cr.mp, and cr.mp - cr.lk st.hp etc can not be his BnB bec the link is too tight to be a BnB. St.cl.mp is just as good with an easier link but as shadow said -1, no big deal bec u wont be using it as a stand alone poke or fram trap or anything we’ll always be doing st.cl.mp - cr.lk, st.hp/cr.hp…
Cr.mp is still better better because of CH leading into Cr.Hp easily. Also 1 frame links aren’t that bad to not be a bnb.
1 frame link BnBs are pretty common. I know Rose had one in SSFIV (haven’t played AE), and I wanna say Blanka and Guile had some, too. It’d probably be a good idea to shy away from them though if you frequently play online, of course.
as bnb i just use cr.lp, cr.hp xx ex Konvict Kick
I just started playing King again in 2013, for a bnb currently I’m using cr.lp cr.lp cr.hp into reverse arm slam or whatever, since they buffed the damage it’s actually better than Konvict Kick xx DDT, unless you’re willing to use meter. If you aren’t comfortable with it since it’s unsafe you can just use lk KK since that’s only -2.
Been messing around with King stuff and looking at a lot of his frame data to come up with block strings, frame traps etc. Cr.Lp, Cr. Lp, Cr.Hp xx Lk KK vs RASC ender is only a 19 damage difference so using LK KK is well worth the decrease in damage for being able to have a relatively safe block string. It’s also a 1 frame link from Cr.Lp into Cr.Hp for those who were wondering.
This block string is probably one of the harder ones I’ve done Cr.Mp, F+Mp, Cr.Lp, Cr.Mk. It’s also a 1 frame link for Cr.Lp, Cr.Mk but for some reason it feels so much harder than Cr.Lp, Cr.Hp. Maybe it’s due to distance idk. But it’s safe and is several frame traps right after another. I feel these 2 block strings are good if you want to try and go for some Jag Step mix-ups. They’re also good for if you want to do CADC pressure.
So RIP thread ;_;
I was messing around with Tag stuff and I found that you can do CH Shoulder Tackle, Knee, Shoulder Tackle if you’re close enough to the corner. The damage is only 325 compared to 317 from CH ST, Knee x2. But some characters have problems in the corner with high launches and it might mess up combos so this is another choice if you have one of those characters. Also since ST is untechable this could set-up things for characters like a DP bait with charging up a super etc.
also when finding tag stuff I was trying to see if I could get anything from an airborne hit with KK I did a tag cancel and somehow got the DDT come out. I don’t know what causes it because I can’t replicate it often, but I have seen it work on airborne opponents when I could have sworn it didn’t. Or I could just be crazy.
Hey man, I’ve also mained King since day 1, but I’ve never really bothered to post here, let’s keep this alive
I’m pretty damn sure you can’t DDT an airborne opponent, you can however tag cancel it and continue a combo after, but you might as well knee.
Also, what’s your post launcher combo with King? I actually only play online since there’s zero scene where I live, so I don’t rely on knee lifts after a launcher since they’re really tight. I mostly do cr.MP, st.HP xx RJB/RASC
cl.mp, cl.hp xx RJB/RSAC works too and nets a little more off, Knee only works on certain launchers so they won’t work on ones that launch too low like Cammy or Julia for example.
Yeah, generally I just avoid doing it because the timing is really tight, especially in the corner.
You know some meaty setups with King after a hard knockdown?
I try the Rolling Elbow setup on occasions but it all really depends on what the opponent will do on wake-up really. Knee Lift can be used to switch sides though which is nice.
