Nite, the cases have a steel shell that is powdercoated. However, the actual frame under the shell is made of MDF. The shell and the frame are attached, then Voltech mounts the fancy wood trim to the sides of the MDF frame which are still exposed even after the shell is attached.

VOLTECH:

Just the frame is MDF the Shell is Powder coated steel. The MDF Frame is the least expensive part of the case but takes up the most time because it requires very accurate fitting and that takes time because they are cut by hand. Untill I get access to a CNC router (Something I am looking into) thats just the way it will be. I know there was somebody in the forums that has one I just cant remember his name?

I see, thanks guys for clearin it up. They’re some nice lookin sticks regardless.
Not sure about this forum for a CNC, I know of one on woodnet.

Yeah I know about him he does metal but I was looking for a guy that does wood? He had a kit you could buy I remember because I almost bought one. If I don’t find someone here I’ll check out Woodnet just wanted to see if somebody from the community might want to get involved.

Anyway here’s some pics of those wooden sides I bolted on with brass screw inserts.

I realize the shell is not sitting flush on one side and thats because it’s not bolted down yest just sitting on top. I’ll do the final fitting once I have the shell that goes with this case. But so far it’s looking good and feels really solid.

Yep thats Quilted Maple, When I get the Harley Cream pear shell in I’ll take a pic of them together. But yeah that Whit does look really goon next to it, it has a nice contrast. Kodee VU I’m thinking the Tiger Maple you ordered would look just as good if I cant pull off the white washed look.

Yeah… The whole idea I was going for was a white tiger look with some black and white tiger art, as well (white tiger maple trim, black hardware). If you can’t get the wood white dyed to a nice looking result, just finish it nice n shiny like that quilted maple and go white shell. I trust your judgment

Did you already cut the control panel and plexi for mine? If so, were you able to space the buttons and stick the way I asked: raised blast city 8 but with spacing like your custom Vewlix layout? If you can’t / couldn’t do that, then what will / did you end up doing? You can go 6-button if need be to create the space if you haven’t already cut it.

How many others have chose that HD Black Pearl? While I know you were outsorcing some of the more exotic powders, any chance that could be a standard option? It came out really well on the frames I’ve seen it on so far. Interestingly, it gives off almost a blueish tint in direct sunlight
