I just wanted to see if someone could double check my work as this is the first one of these I have had to wire up.
The person I am wiring this for requested left + right = Neutral and Up + Down = Up
Hi TFS,
I have a quick question about painting a case. With the screws holding it up, do you spray in an up and down motion vertical to the case? Or do you spray from side to side? To get an even coat you would have to do up and down right? Also, when you paint the underside, do you wait until the top is dry, maybe like 15 min or so, and just flip it over? Asking cause I’ll be spray painting my first wooden case soon and thought I’d ask you since you do nice work.
First that screw trick is very important and one I recently figured out, I had tried hanging, leaning, all sorts of different ways to paint, but this works the best by far.
on MDF there isnt any sort of grain or anything to follow so I can spray in any direction I need really. I also usually try and spray the last coat on whatever side right before I go to bed and let it sit over night, then flip and paint the other side in the morning. I owe pretty much everything I know about finishing to Bad Boy Brazil for helping me learn by supplying the projects, and always pushing me to get better at finishing and this video by Donavan Myers

that gave me the knowledge of where to start and what to do.
The products he recommends work great. I do leave out the rubbing compound stage, instead I wet sand up to a 2500-3000 grit paper.
be patient, whenever I try and hurry, thats when bad things happen…
