Does it look easy to mod? Meaning, can I use wires without having to worry about a board?
nah its pretty much an ex2 inside with the button soldered board. the stick uses a harness, but you cant retrofit a sanwa/hori gate/switch board and it has raised nubs where the jlf “wings” go if you dont mind the ex2 high mount. basically its work, but a cheap plastic case or loaner stick.
Hmm. I’ll keep it in mind. I don’t mind the EX2, but I hated the square gate on it. My stick has been seeing 4+ years of use, and it’s starting to die out, and since I’m not that competitive anymore, I don’t have a need for a super nice dual modded stick anymore…

sure thing. if you have a hori it’s not hard to slap an octo gate on it and any stick is fixable for pretty cheap if you’re handy. i dont think anyone’s gonna buy this stick anyway til i desolder the board and slap a more common stick inside. 
I used to have an EX2, but I didn’t feel like converting it to a PS3 stick. I traded it for Persona 3. The PCB is responsive to fighting games? That’s all I really care about. Could give a shit about the buttons, as I’ll get used to it. I used to go to EVO with a green goblin and never had a problem playing anybody. I took the gate off and taped the PCB up so I rocked a gateless green goblin. 
Question for you though… If I purchased the first one from you, liked it enough for the second one, would you give me the $30 price, or is that only if I purchase both at the same time? I’d rather not drop $70 on two sticks, if I don’t know if I’ll like it.
BTW - do you know how to pop an octo on the PS3 version of the EX2? I bought it from somebody off of here, modded with Seimitsu buttons… but I hate the square gate it came with. The stick is stock.
yeah on the fs3 you can put the octo gate where the old gate was and just drill 4 holes where the original screws were to hold it in.
i dunno what shippings gonna be since i usually set a flat rate and take the hit sometimes, but if its under 12 then yeah i could do them seperate.
