WTS: Custom Sanwa Arcade Stick(s)

PMs and emails sent
I have a few sticks to finish up, I was suppose to have had them done this week but hit a few snags along the way. they’re getting done just a little slower than I want them to be done.

one of the snags are phillips screws! I know in america phillips are in every corner store but up here in canada they are just about as uncommon as a 2 dollar bill.here we have our own invention called the robertson screw… in a home improvement store robertson screws out number phillips 9 to 1. rest assured I should have this matter cleared up before the week is out it’s just a small set back, but i’ll be on top of it very shortly!

Looks cool finkle. That mention of mention of Robertson screws made me look up what they look like on google. They apparently are square holed screw which are standard in Canada only? The Philips X or + shaped screw that we use up here are apparently inferior, but we use them because they became the standard before the square holed Robertson screws. The advantage of using Robertson screws instead of Philips I read, is that they dont ware out like the Philips screws from over torquing, but I guess thats why we have torque screws for

I knew about Flat, Philips, Torx & Allen screws… but I sure didn’t even imagine there were square holed screw called Robertson. Not that I’ve never seen them, but I always thought they were kind of specific screw, I mean like designed not to be unscrewed by anybody, only those who had the right specific stuff or something.

Sent you another pm

Makoto: I will answer that PM tonight when I get home. thanks!

To the people who ordered curve top sticks from me recently… I dont know how to say this but… the new design has turned out far better than I expected and much better than what it looks like on paper  should be in for a treat for sure!

I somehow expected this… call it my male intuition!

Still, that’s some tight news Noel, you da man!

sweet noel, i can’t wait to see it.

stick hasn’t come in yet. =( its been 8 days. hopefully ill get it today in the mail.

hey
takes about 10 days on average to make it to make it out to the west coast from Toronto. should be there before the week is out or monday at the very latest

all should be well

what is this curved stick that you speak of?

But this is the older design. The newer design is yet to be seen afaik ^^

Btw, to anyone who ordered a curved: mine will look better, it’ll have a BIG bird on it!

Finkle clear your pms!

done and done! gets filled up pretty fast!

pm sent!

its the end of the week and still no stick… :frowning: i hope it gets in by monday or i’ll be really worried.

not to worry, it always takes 10 business days to make its way all the way to california a few thousand miles away. I find the longest time is actually when it sits in customs which can be days before it clears. it should be there early this week coming. dont feel bad though, I could buy something from upstate new york (about 6hrs away) and it takes about the same amount of time to make it here. it’s pretty annoying to say the least, I dont know if its canada post or USPS that drags their feet on this matter. California is always the longest when it comes to deliveries… no need to worry though, this is pretty standard

Don’t worry man, it’ll come. If it comes later than monday, go kick the crap out of your postman, lol. I was hoping to get mines for my b-day, which was a wednesday, and 8 days since it was shipped, but received it on a monday.

how many sticks on average do you make in a month finkle?

you must make like at least a thousand (usd) a month at least (1 stick, $160 - price of materials, i’ll guess $50 = $110 profit per stick), and this is probably just on the side from your real job

That’s not remotely close to accurate considering cost of a set of Sanwa parts is close to $50…Just to use round numbers we’ll say a JLF is $25 and each button is $2.50. $2.50 x 8 = $20. Let’s say he orders enough parts to the point where he splits the S&H among customers so that it’s “neglibile.” That’s already $45 right there. Now factor in cost of metal, paint, clear coat, wire, QDs, lexan/plexi, etc. and you’re way past $50.

Honestly, most people seem to think that builders make a lot of money building. When it’s all said and done, the actual profit/hour is probably less than flipping burgers…But people who build for others (myself included) do it mostly because they enjoy doing it.

Sorry if this post sounded a little disgruntled. I just don’t like it when people make comments that imply builders do it for the money. Especially finkle who I think sells for a LOT cheaper than his sticks are worth.

Yeah he would make a lot of money if it cost him $50 to make one and if he could make them real fast as well. As paik mentioned it cost him a lot of money just for parts so he is actually selling custom sticks for a pretty decent price.
