hey gag, congrats on getting your bat tops off the ground.
JJL and Stephen (whoever you are on the forums) I just dropped off your packages. Stephen keep me posted on when you receive yours please, this is the first time I’ve mailed USPS first class to Canada.
Chad just shipped my adapters and springs - they should be in Tuesday or Wednesday.
PayPal sent for red anodized & adapter, thx! This is will go great w/my HRAP V3-SA! What alternative do you have to the ls-32 spring? I didn’t order one from you since I couldn’t wait, LOL!
I got your order, I’ll include the alternative spring I use - not need to combine it with the JLF spring, just replace the stock one. If you would rather not, I’ll have LS-32 springs in by mid week.
Is it from another joystick or a home depot spring? Regardless, I’ll take it & try it out. Thx! Do I have to put in electrical tape also (like in that YouTube clip) or just replace only? Is it as stiff as the LS-32?
Replace your existing spring with this one (assuming you have a JLF), no need for the tape and sticky note. I have been using it for a while now and it works fine. It has a very similar feel to the JLF + LS-32 combo.
And yes, I bought it at a local hardware store (go go Do-it Center).
edit: First post updated with additional FAQ.
Thx for the additional info. Yup, my Hori V3-SA has a JLF. Looking forward to the bat top, adapter & alternative spring! I’ll post installed pics when I receive the parts.

I think its awesome that right after you got ready to go, coincidentally this great idea came about with the slurpee straws and they match your tops flawlessly. Great way to promote your tops.
Maybe its not a coincidence… DUHN DUHN DUHN!
(ya I got pretty lucky)
Added AIM SN to contact information - I want to hear from you, lets make it happen!

Hey guys, I’ve had my bat top for a while but I wanted to really put the bat top through its paces to get an honest opinion on the feel and performance.
First off, like toggleme said, the bat top adds significant weight to the stick. I used it on a JLW-TM. The JLW has the same size thread as the JLF so I had to get the adapter along with the bat top. The JLW, however, has a smaller throw and a tighter spring than the JLF. I tried it for a few days without adding an extra spring to see if it was necessary. I noticed the weight difference instantly. I tried it with a few charge characters (Guile, 'Rog, Bison, Blanka) and I noticed that the extra weight affected the speed of how the stick returned to neutral. I had to change my whole timing due to the weight. Then I moved on to shoto characters (Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Juri, Cammy) to see if the extra weight affected my executions on these type of characters. After a few days of practice, I realized that the extra weight didn’t really affect moves such as fireballs and srk’s. It did affect things like dashing forward or back.
I tried putting an extra JLF spring and this helped the execution problems. The extra spring helped it return to neutral much quicker but I ended up taking it out because I got used to playing without the extra spring. The extra spring is highly recommended for charge characters IMO. For shoto’s, I think it’s personal preference. In the end, I would say that if you don’t want to make much of an adjustment to your own game, get a bat top with an extra spring! If you don’t mind adjusting your game to the slightly delayed return of the stick, get it without an extra spring. Like I said, I tried it with both and I ended up playing it with the stock JLW spring. This is probably because I main shoto’s anyway.
As for the overall quality of the bat top, I am extremely satisfied. I got the standard aluminum bat top. It is gorgeous and just screams custom originality! It withstands a beating too. It’s as if the bat top is scratch resistant. It doesn’t feel too slippery but then again, my palms don’t sweat too much when playing. I have yet to see it get too dirt or grimy but I have cleaned it with a damp paper towel with warm water. I instantly wipe it with a dry paper towel and it always looks new.
I definitely see myself buying another one of these in the foreseeable future. I am happy with my purchase. Any questions? PM me.

Thanks for the review Lefty. I am happy you like the product!
