taker is nearing the end of his career…real fast. i feel like he will take a title soon…not sure if it will be punk’s though. but he will have at least 1 title run i bet before wrestlemania.

Yeah, Taker has been a Smackdown staple pretty much the entire time of the split branding, but you have to believe that the company takes the WWE Title just a TAD BIT more seriously considering it has a much, much longer history. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Taker get one more chance to hold the OG strap…don’t know how the fuck you write something like that, but it could be done.
Taker VS Orton for WWE Title at a WM might not be a great match, but it makes a ton of sense given all the mythology…the streak, the title, the “Legend Killings”, etc.
their have been rumors i believe cody is gonna end takers run. stuart posted the rumor a while back. sooo going on that, its likely taker ends up on raw…takes the title from whoever is the champ and gets into a program wit cody.

I mean, you’re OVER if you beat Taker at Mania…I know Cody is good and young, but really? I just don’t see why they’d do it that way. I guess if he beat Taker at Mania, he could become a super-heel, with ending the streak at the center of his character. Still, I don’t buy it.
Honestly, if I had to pick a way to end the streak, this year’s Shawn Michaels match would’ve been the perfect time to do it. It was one of the best matches ever…and kayfabe “winning streaks” aside, Shawn Michaels is clearly the best wrestler to ever be involved in Wrestlemania…4 main events? Check. Amazing matches with Hart, Jericho, Flair, Benoit/HHH and Taker? Check. Fuck, he even made Cena look good in that main event.

WWE Strap doesn’t matter to me, though–you’re only gonna see Orton or Cena with it at this point, and that feud is stale as fuck…I’d say send Taker to Raw, and let Punk get a long title run.
