Mysterio/Ziggler - Fun opener. Looks like Mysterio is gonna have the IC title for more than a month now(I know, I’m shocked too). Still, Ziggler push is needed! ***
MVP/Swagger - Swagger’s teeth is just too damn much. Looks like he can rip out Wolverine’s adamanitium skeleton with his mouth. They had the whole “Black people are poor” promo, so I was thinking this was gonna be like HHH/Booker T White People Are Superior thing, but they went the other direction. Another decent match, this could be a really good PPV! I’m 0-2 at this point ***
JeriShow/G-Unit - This was an ok match, I guess. The best part was when Jericho went into full on “FUCK THE KNICKS!” face with the Walls, and black dude’s face was fierce, crawling at the ropes like it was a bucket of KFC. Show came in with the Falcon PAWNCH to end it. Can’t let the black man win TWO matches in a row. ** 1/2
Kane/Khali - Honestly, do you give a shit? The only good parts was when Kane took middle eastern guy in hand, and was like “Aha! Nowwho has the hostages!?” and Kane’s wavedash dropkick. *
DX/Legacy - PENISPENISPENISCOCKDICKPENIS x 5 minutes. Seriously, thats all that shit was. Its the same damn thing they’ve been doing since I was 12, and it wasn’t too funny then. Lots of exciting punching and chinlocks. Chinlocks were the name of the game here. HBK overselling built up his GameShark meter and he pulled out the 0 frame wake up ULTRA for the win. **
Christian/Rugal w/APA 2.0 assist type - Rugal with Clubber Lang AND Ivan Drago? Best KoF team EVER. Rugal is awesome every time he steps in the ring, so this should be a gowait what the fuck just happen? That was the biggest load of bullshit. 1/2 * for APA 2.0 and Rugal pimp coat appearances.
Cena/Orton - Funniest fucking match I have ever watched. Orton comes out with the reverse Michael Jackson disease, looking like an unmasked Cobra Commander. Match was over multiple times, but Lilian Garcia figured that because she was leaving tomorrow, she can just make up whatever the fuck she wants and keeps hitting reset, even when Orton ragequits. Cena’s bag of quarters never runs dry, until random white guy/plant runs in the ring and steals them. Orton defends his title like, five times tonight. *** or ******, I can’t tell I was too busy pissing myself with laughter. Message to TNA: THIS IS HOW YOU DO A HORRIBLE FUCKING ENDING.
Punk/Hardy - Like I expected, the one match that could be four stars, was. Great way for Hardy to go out, and that “oh shi–” bump -> paramedics xx phoenix down was epic. Great stuff between two very talented guys, with PUUUUUUNK coming out on top. It pays to be straight edge! Now for it to be thrown away into shitty matches at Unforgiven/No Mercy with Taker’s old, slow, no-jobbing, no-selling ass. Yay. ****
Overall: Funny shit, not a lot of actual quality wrestling. First two matches were good, Punk/Hardy was great, Cena/Orton was funny because it was so awful, everything us was pretty meh.
Also, that IRC chat, while funny, was laggy as fuck. 20-30 second input lag FTL. It was like playing online against Koreans from America.
If it helps, next months PPV is Hell in the Cell so Punk vs. Undertaker in a Hell in the Cell is potential hype.
I’m not going to give that DX/Legacy snooze fest a free pass for an exciting ending. That shit was rest hold city.
