WWE has never played by the rules when it comes to people competing within their weight class, and they’re not going to start now.
If they determine that its Apollo’s best chance for success, best believe its gonna happen. Even if they have to push some fake injury storyline so he came back 20 pounds lighter.
This dude got squashed before his match even started tonight. Something has to change.
Crews was always this way, even in the indies and in Japan. Not once has he ever had a real character or gimmick. If people really thought he was going to change up in NXT, they were kidding themselves.
I think the NXT folks finally realized this and that’s why he got the call-up. What you see is what you get. Its really all down to booking at this point. JBL continues to call him a future champion during his matches, they’ve been planting that seed in people’s minds from the moment he debuted.
I was meaning to post here earlier this week but stuff came up, like turning 30 yesterday. Woo.
-Backlash was LIT. I don’t know how well the sound came off on the Network feed but the crowd was crazy hype all night long, even for guys like Apollo Crews.
-Wizard World was also that weekend so a lot of people were rooting for Becky based off of her being one of the main guests at the event. Everyone loved that she won, but too many people thought Alexa Bliss was going for Harley Quinn when she’s clearly going for the girl from Lollipop Chainsaw.
-Crowd was really into Miz vs Ziggler. Whenever Miz’s promo on Talking Smack came up in promo packages, the whole arena cheered.
-As soon as the Usos came out I shouted, “YOU’RE NOT BLACK, STOP TRYING!” I don’t care how many weird looks I got from the family sitting next to me, was totally worth it.
-There were a lot of Slater fans in the house, and Rhyno got some ECW chants going during their match.
-Everyone in the arena was 100% AJ. Even before this event I saw AJ shirts in the community and at my local FGC events, so I wasn’t really surprised. They were not into Ambrose at all and popped huge when AJ won.
-We didn’t mind Kane coming out but the place became unglued with Randy dropped Bray.
If she’s jobbing out to Nia Jax in a couple month’s time then yeah, but I can also buy the idea that someone as famous as she is would stay the hell off of social media as much as possible until someone was like “hey, you should probably address this”.
I’ve seen her comment section. Yikes.
