I get my picky attitude from past reviews I’ve watched. That said, I seem to be only picking up games that aren’t seen as a great game, and I find that they are pretty good for what it is, instead of being compared to another game. Need for Speed titles get a load of hell because the last few titles butchered the entire series… so now any NFS titles are labeled as bad. While they don’t have a lot of in-depth replay value, they have their ways to keep you playing and taken serious enough at a competitive level, the games aren’t terrible.
I would say that today’s gamers are stupid, conceited, self-entitled pricks.
I love video games but I fucking hate gamers.
People like Combofiend, Justin Wong, etc. buy fighting games just so they can compete. They say MVC3 is ass, but they still play it. So if you want to play and compete, then yes. Otherwise, don’t waste your money on a game that you think is shit.

Jeez I mean… some people will defend a crappy movie tie-in or Sports Simulator X to the death as paragons of gameplay. Some people over-analyze the toothless plot of JRPGs past their prime as some masterpiece on par with classic literature. Some people decry all mainstream games and only play indie games, ever, deciding that if it’s popular that must automatically mean it’s shit.
People will play what they will play. It’s not like everyone has to be a hardcore player or care about the game’s plot or stick it to the man, but damn if people will shove their half-thought opinions down other people’s throats.

I think it’s strange people dedicate so much time to bitching about what other people like to play. I don’t like MW, so I don’t buy it. Instead I do a bit of reaserch and buy stuff I know I will like. But I don’t rag on someone else for having fun with something that’s ultimately meant to pass the time and have fun. It’s a waste of my time and it’s a waste of yours as well. There are hundreds and hundreds of games being released all year long that fit the quota for every type of gamer. If there is nothing out there for you, then you’re not looking hard enough.
I will say I agree with Ronin about the black and whiteness of judging stuff. Nothings aloud to just be good anymore and that’s a shame, from both new and old gamers across all genres of gaming.
