I also don’t understand why the Battle Network games games get as much hate as they do. Even though there were a lot of them, it was different and I enjoyed the ones I played thoroughly. In fact, thanks for reminding me this game is out there. I’m downloading a rom for it as we speak.
Dunno how Banjo-Kazooie could be ANYONE’s worst game ever. That game STILL looks good.
FF12 is a love it or hate it game, for sure… but I think even the people who hate it can find worse games they’ve played.
Previously mentioned:
MKM:SZ- Oh man, I forgot about this game. By far, one of the worst games I’ve ever played. The turn-around button itself gives this one a nod.
Time Lord- I liked it, but it was impossible at one point. Still, what a soundtrack.
BioFREAKS- one of the games I picked up in pursuit of a good N64 fighting game. Dark Rift, too. Vic Tokia put out some horrible shit, man. Ask Duke Togo about it; you know what he’d say.
(BF wasn’t VT I know)
Oh yeah, I also had Friday the 13th on NES…only wanted it because it was a Friday the 13th game. They most likely ONLY got sales off name recognition. I’m not even sure the game was possible to beat, though I barely remember it anyway. It had horrible control, forgettable music and piss poor graphics even in the realm of 8-bit expectations at the time. The only positive thing you could say about it was that the cover art/image was cool (a great picture of Jason that looks like it would be the poster imagery for one of the movies)
*I was actually considering getting Sonic 2006, thinking “well, it can’t be THAT bad, right?” Good thing I never got around to it… I’ve seen the videos of people torturing themselves by playing that shit… I’ve seen that it’s also surprisingly difficult and/or borderline impossible and unfair most of the time, apparently.
Going way back—> Karate Champ. Man, talk about awkward control… this shit had 2 joysticks to control your character. I think the “1p/2p Start” were the only buttons. I played it about 2 or 3 times then never even considered spending another quarter on that bullshit.
Carcassone— I got this ONLY because it was put up for free on Live arcade for a short time a few years ago. I was actually falling asleep while playing it the first time to at least get 1 or 2 achievements out of it. I never even bothered to play again to try for any other achievements. It is unbelievably boring…like it might be more entertaining to sit next to a dead body for a few months and years to watch it decompose… it’s like if you took a lot of Benadryl or some other cold medicine and watched C-SPAN… or if you had to be on a phone, on hold for hours in an empty, blank, dimly lit room with the most bland elevator music (played at a very low volume, of course) in the background.
90% of the games listed here shouldn’t even be here… Scribblenauts? Primal Rage? Seriously? FFX2? Not great games, but they’re not that bad…

I seriously played this, no joke, once time we had nothing to do when we were in the middle of nowhere because of our job, we saw 1 kid playing a “polystation 64” and he invited us to play, we stayed 1 hour playing that thing smashing buttons lol, i wish that we only had at least 1 cel phone from 10 years ago to play pong instead of this.
yo this shit has red velvet ryu, we in there
Sentinel Returns. 9 years old. Not fluent in English. No control scheme.
Payed full price, played like one fucking minute.
Most recent craptacular games I have played are…
Prototype - Everything looks the same, boring as fuck.
Fist of the North Star Ken’s Rage - Terrible combat, atrocious level design. This one really hurt, because I fucking LOVE this manga. I really wished I never played this game. The fighting game will remain the high point in games for this series.
halo 2, post BXR… awful and game breaking glitch makes it way into the competitive scene and IMO alters developers from fixing things like this. Becomes 1 half skill, the other half executing broken stuff
Viking… lol, gamer scores make games tolerable but thing game is trash. some cool moment but not nearly enough.
DBZ ultimate battle 22. I liked Dragon Ball and I was 8 years old and I still found this game to be Ass. Worst $2 ever spent
Action 52. Fifty-two of the worst games ever designed. Not even the Cheetah Men can save it. But I guess that’s expected of an unlicensed game, so I guess that doesn’t count.
The worst game I’ve played is Flying Dragon for the N64. Terrible, terrible fighting game.
Shadow the Hedgehog would have taken a lot of cleaning up to at least be average. I like Shadow too but that in no way made me enjoy torturing myself through that game. He’s a hedgehog that can move at the speed of sound and can warp to pretty much wherever the hell he wants especially with a chaos emerald. He’s probably the strongest character in the franchise…so why the hell give him a gun? He could have still been angsty and whatever without having to use weapons.
Metal Sonic in a God of War style? …I can’t see it. That’s my opinion though.
Fist of the North Star for NES, every enemy except bosses died in one hit

some of you shouldnt even be gamers
Bayou Billy
Silent Service
The music in Bayou Billy was good as well as the shooting and racing aspects of the game, but the beat em up portion? It was complete shit, enough to deter me from ever trying to get out of the first 2 stages.
That is, was, and shall always be, the game that sits upon the throne of hell in the halls of bad games. I know why E.T. couldn’t call home. NOBODY picked it up. Those phones are rotting away in a landfill, just like his games.
-Starhammer-
ET isnt as bad as people say it is. I know it sucks but most people who play it dont know what to do, which is why people hate it
People who say its bad are usually the people who never played it.
(not saying everyone who played it says its good/ok/decent.)
