Worried about buying MadCatz brand

I’ve gotten a couple of Madcatz sticks they are better then they were before…You know like frying your game machine, setting you on fire, or even burn down your house…

Arcade sticks are over priced though, shouldn’t cost $150…It should be no more then $100…Get it on sale

You forgot the part about buying a cheap USB card. Even if MadCatz did fix it, you’d still have to shell out for a new stick since it’s not something that drivers or such will take care off.

That said, if you look at the official literature, no where does it say that the PS3 TE is PC compatible.

Newsflash: My laptop doesn’t have a slot for it. I’ve googled stuff all over for upgrading the usb hardware in my laptop and found nothing compatible with my hardware

The you might have no option in this case except to buy a new stick. Preferably one that’s advertised as PC compatible (unlike the PS3 TEs).

Alternatively, there might be some HUBs that are UHCI compliant that can make it work with OHCI port. Granted I’ve never tried one, only heard about these from some folks.

Doesn’t make it any less dumb though…

a lot of people were worried when it was first announce that Madcatz was making the official Vanilla joystick(myself included). Several TEs later, I’m convinced that you can teach an old dog new tricks! XD

Thanks guys for your input. My PS3 TE is already shipped and should be here in a couple of days. c:

Good luck!

If I’d seen this thread early, I’d have recommended you get an HRAP3 variation.

As I see it.

Anyone who hasn’t been pleased with the TE series and MadCatz’ customer service lately is out of their flippin mind.

I was one of those people who would never go near MC products, and laughed at the idea of them putting out arcade sticks. Now just look around at any of the tournaments, they are easily the most trusted brand.

edit- I love Hori products, I think they even look better, but the MC are better designed. When you first pop the hood on a TE (or watch this so you don’t void your warranty) and see how everything is laid out, you realize they wanted to make a statement with this stick.

This isn’t the fault of Madcatz though honestly, the intel USB spec is the standard, and it’s in the majority of PC’s. I had this problem as well, because two of the PC’s at my house are tri-sli GTX 280’s and GTX 480’s and that requires an nvidia motherboard, hence ANY stick for the PS3 is going to have issues.

The problem here is that, as always, the specs on PC ports and I/O items are all fucking over the place even if the physical adapter is the same.

Try working in IT, this sort of crap is constant.

Thanks for this video!

The wiring and that sort of thing is going to be the hardest part for me when customizing the stick. >__>;

Answer is simple.

Madcatz stuff sucks with madcatz parts.

TE sticks use Sanwa parts which are good. Best thing Madcatz ever did

You wont be sorry.

The parts in the TvC stick are nice. There hasn’t been an SE released since. I imagine the new WWE All Stars stick will use similar parts, but we don’t know yet.

The new WWE BrawlSticks will use the same parts as the TVC sticks.

if you buy any stick madcatz i highly suggest you scrap the stocked PCB and replace with it a Cthulhu board or any pcb that isnt madcatz brand or something. Mine just died 5 minutes ago and ive only had the stick for like 4 months…LOL
