nope. feels the same to me.
Well, the emulators have a slight input delay, 1 or 2 frames. So it is worth practicing on the PS2 if you have it. Glad to see you’re interested, Webby! =P
And krost, I can actually drive to C3’s, so you might see me one of these times. Depends on when I get weekend work…
I’ll have more to say later. Gotta start playing again!

U will no longer be WHP champion for using my name in vain…prepare yourself…:wasted:!!!
THREAD CANNOT DIE NOOOOOOOOO
I posted a new video (rashreflection on Youtube) - my first try at audio commentary. Just something quick, describing a new Capt.Kidd trick I discovered last night. Be VERY afraid…
And if you find my voice really horrible & annoying, please let me know. I’ll do more videos in this format, if you guys like it.
-Josh
I can voice them too, if you want. You should put up some of our recent carn v. gokuu that proves I dont lose to him unles there is 100 dollars on the line.
Hire Morgan Freeman to do commentary!
Yes, your blackness.
That’s right. Marvel before my giant African penis!!!
I stumbled onto something last night when playing Keits, but I’m going to be quite hush hush about it until FRXI.
Oh man.
:lovin:
Why keep secrets? That’s lame.:bluu:
It will only be a secret until frxi. Chibi needs it to take out josh.
KEITS YOU ARE THE bees kneeseses
Why are you not on AIM, hackensack? I wanted to clue you in on gokuu.
I guess so.:bluu:
I have a better chance of beating Chibi in Melty Blood than he does of beating me in this.
REAL TALK NIGGAS
Yo, add me to that AIM list, its odboncrack.
I play Fuuma, RyoFu, and Muscule.
Gotcha. Welcome to the club.
UPDATE on Emulator of choice. - WHP, and mostly all non-ggpo online play, will be moving over to Neo Final Burn Alpha. You can pick it up over at http://kaillera.movsq.net , so get going.
OK everyone, I started toying with frames tonight and already found a few interesting things:
In addition to the natural 1 frame of input delay for all actions, this game has at least 1 extra frame of delay for attacks (NOT moving around/ducking/jumping). The longer you hold the button(s), the longer the delay - it ranges from 1-6 frames!
If you buffer an attack from another attack, or during hit/block stun, that delay goes away! As an example, Capt.Kidd’s s.MP gives him a +5 frame advantage on hit. With the 1-frame delay, his neutral HK takes 6 frames total. You would think it shouldn’t combo from the MP, then, but it can - just press HK late in the MP’s recovery, and that startup delay will be gone! This also explains why throws can be used as reversals - when buffered from blockstun or wakeup, they become instant! Thus, when collecting frame data, I will discard this delay from the startup of all moves.
Many characters’ LPs chain into any other normal, but only late in their recovery. You’re only canceling the last few frames of the jab, but even this is important in certain combos, and since it’s a chain you have some leeway.
In general, this game seems to have a 3-frame buffer window for links, reversals, buffering dashes (Hanzou!), etc. This means that you can perform your action during any of those 3 frames, and it will come out as soon as possible. I always suspected this game had something like this, since reversals are noticeably easier than in ST - makes it more online-friendly.
Many normals give you the exact same advantage on hit & block, oddly enough. Heavy attacks seem to lose a lot when blocked, while medium moves vary a lot.
And finally, a couple real doozies…
After certain moves, crouching blockstun is slightly longer than standing blockstun! Thus far I’ve only seen this with Kidd’s low HP, which is 2 frames better on crouch block, but I’m sure there are others.
Some moves cause a longer hitstun on crouching opponents, while others have a shorter hitstun!
All of this is going to make frame data a real bitch for this game, but a man’s gotta do…
