A used copy of WHA showed up in my Gamestop yesterday so I bought it impulsively. Some things irked me(like not having the option to use the normal version of a special instead of the EX version when you have meter). It took me a while to figure out that you could backdash out of guardcrush, that helped alot. There seems to be alot of stuff in this game that seems broken, a sheep in wolf’s clothing. Before I figured out about backdash, I was certain that this game was a POS when Sonichuman seemingly landed a guaranteed cr.HK with Dragon after connecting with his guardcrush. But after playing the game more, it’s growing on me. I’m liking Ryoko alot. Does anyone know all of her autoguard moves? I know that j.HP, fs.HP and either cr.LK or cr.MK are autoguard, are there more?
Ryoko stuff I realized while playing:
-Ryoko’s d/f+HP/HK goes under Dragon’s qcf+K(the Lightning Kick-looking attack). If he does the version that does more than 2 hits, it might hit Ryoko when you get too close. But you’re close enough to cancel into command grab him by time that happens.
-If you block Dragon’s qcf+LK, Ryoko’s far MP will stop him from doing them repeatedly but lose to early crouching kicks(MK and HK). The crouching kicks are beat out by f+MK.
-Captain Kidd’s j.HK outprioritizes Ryoko’s cr.HP and st.HK. I’ve had consistent success when using HP and late j.HK against Captain Kidd’s j.HK.

Did you even try it? I just did to be sure and it worked first try on the arcade rom. Hold C, up up down down left left right right, press B while still holding C. Do it pretty quickly.
Welcome to the club. Be sure to get on 2df or #srksnk on efnet and play online with the group a little bit. Ryoko is the hardest character in the game to master, but is very dangerous. Remember to read all the systems guides and option select guide in the first post, these will be a big help.
Remember these few tips -
-df+hp roll can be canceled into any special or super before the punch comes out, including command grabs
-a+b+c and down+abc are counters. experiment to see which moves can and cannot be countered and where her counter hitbox actually is.
-wall jump is amazing
-dp+mk allows you to do normals in the air after

I got shit like Jump cancel ambiguous crossups into infinite…strict comboes like jump crossover C in the corner, Neutral st.c, St. CDxxdrill/Super, other jump cancel crazy ass shit, I know what to chip with, shit like backwards throw into Electricity Super, I battery alot, low combos into super, crossup on the ground alot, know when and when NOT to use qcf+p because some characters can Cr.C or uppercut you out of it, (however they cant do that if they are knocked down, little shit like that I KNOW ABOUT NOW)I use his Electricity Super even now…so much shit you don’t think I know because I dont play online :rolleyes: ** that I DO KNOW NOW**…My Jack isnt 10x better for nothing…you are taking me for granted…the vids at MWC will speak for themselves…
Plus now I use EVERY ONE OF JACKS NORMALS…So please dont make the mistake and think you got me figured out…
Lukus, ft3 is pretty damned accurate in this game. It’s not as random as say HnK or even Tekken. FT5 will be too long given all we want to accomplish at MWC…

yeah, the discussions were getting really good. i’m trying to pick up WHP myself…just recently got in the Real Bout series a week ago, and i miss WHP (for nostalgic reasons). i used to use Jack and Capt. Kidd back in the day…fun, fun.
So I’m using the PS2 version, and I’m wondering. What’s the best button layout for a stick? Currently I"m using a Capcom style 6 button layout, but given some of the weird button combinations for supers, I’m wondering if I should try a more conventional Neo Geo ABCD layout.
i find the street fighter style 4 button layout to be best.

button mapping for hp and hk cannot be turned off on the ps2 version, but tournies using the neo version don have this option, and not learning it that way could cripple you later. the engine is very lenient and i have yet to press lp and mp together and not get the hp i wanted.
