I was messing around with commands throws in all the WH games earlier. Ticking into 360s is quite unusual. You cannot tick straight into it from a stationary position. Your too far away it seems, so you have to tick then move forward slighty and throw. But instead of ticking then moving forward and doing a walking 360, you can do the motion during tick, walk a tiny bit closer to the opponent and press P to perform the 360. Its almost like you can store it, but its probably the input window being extremely lenient. Also it you can tick with more or less any attack it seems, weak or strong it. I’m sure this is common knowledge to guys like Josh and Dark Geese, but hopefully it will be interesting to someone.
Theres also a corner semi-infinite with Muscle Power in WH1, which basically weak kick xx Muscle bomber, repeat, untill dizzy, then start over. You can add a strong jumping attack at the beginning aswell. Also a cross up strong punch followed by repeated weak punches into muscle bomber will redizzy.
Hah, I actually didn’t know you could do that with grabs, thanks! =)
Youtube has a video somewhere with all sorts of crazy WH1 combos, may include other games too. If I can find it, I’ll link it here.
Actually, in WHP, there’s another funny issue with command throws: Empty jump -> grab doesn’t work if you start the grab motion in the air. Yes, you have to wait until you actually land to pull it off. Not sure if this is true in earlier games.
World Heroes Perfect Champion of the USA making his obligatory stop into this thread.
c.mp for life.
Josh - I think Dragon is too low on your chart. Just being a counter to Rasputin should move him to low A or high B at worst. Well talk later about it. I need to get back to work on our faq!
Yep, other people have said the same thing so we were wondering about this.
Turns out it’s not parrying, but autoguards. As mentioned, every character except Rasputin has at least one autoguard normal. Kidd, Erick, & Ryoko have a ton of them!
The timing is very difficult for some of them, while others are practical.
Ryoko, for instance, has a very annoying rushdown pattern of f+MK -> low MK. f+MK is a hopping knee like Guile’s but with faster recovery, and her low MK autoguards low hits. So you can’t use your low pokes to get out, and you can’t jump out either…which, in turn, sets up her command grabs.
Adam: I’m still not sold that Dragon actually has an advantage in that match, but he may be stronger overall than I think. Definitely worth considering. I’m surprised you didn’t flip out at my Ryofu ranking more than anything else!
I’m working more on Shura right now, and he seems to be just on the border between B and C. His main strength is the super - it’s got 3s speed, and I need to see what all it links from.
WE MUST TEST GUARD CRUSHES, I swear the cpu mashes out of them and blocks EVERYTHING. And of course lots of other things as well…
I have no idea what kind of BS you’ve found with Ryofu lately. Using his air ABC options, and just knowing that he CAN outpoke Rasputin, makes him strong in my eyes. So, I trust you on that one.
I had bad bad luck with Shura’s super. A lot of times, the first hit would hit, but the next wouldnt and the rest of the super would miss. This was not in combos, however. This was using it to punish and just throwing it out randomly.
This game is a lot like ST. Its chock full of bullshit. Nearly every character has something really silly to abuse, and that makes the game fun. I’m actually not sure about tech throws, haha. But, 16 characters, and only two of them seem to be really bad.
High Damage, lots of BS… its pretty much ST Jr. Or, ST is WHP Jr, as WHP has a lot more ‘system options’ going on.
Its kind of like ST with a twist. What i think the game has going for it is character design. Apart from Hanzou and Fuuma no 2 characters really play the same. Sure some things are copied from SF2 but alot of stuff is quite original, and while it may not be the most balanced game in the world, it is really fun.
So what are the chances of this game getting a big scene, cause from what i have seen so far it looks pretty slick. It reminds me of SF2T ver.2 or something.
