Oh whatever Lukas! You were all 'He is my backup character!" like three days ago, and then I tell you he has a hard time and you sing a different tune!
Well that was before you all reminded me about that for Brocken…
I totally forgot that about him…
You all reminded me about that and I used him in Mexican casuals and it took a while to win with him…
So you all reminded me of something I forgot and wonder about while playing him in Juarez, Mex.
Sure sure! I believe you DG… :-p
Serious Adam… so you al shot me down and reminded me at the same time…you will see me play Brocken when the Juarez WHP casuals go up…
I want to see Brocken as your backup at NEC. That is, if anyone other than Josh can take out your Jack.
Okay I’ll use Brocken as a backup against anyone that takes out my Jack in WHP first…
Deal…I’ll save Rasputin for anyone that takes out Brocken LOL.
Its all good, Lukas. Im just giving you shit. Play who you want, just try to win! Josh would appreciate the challenge.
Got in a set vs Xiggurat. Here is what we found about Brocken -
1.) He dies horribly to characters with a fast jump, especially when cornered. He is probably 3-7 or worse vs Hanzo, Fuuma, Mudman, and Dragon.
2.) He loses, though not as horribly, to the heavy characters. They just dont have to hit him very many times compared to what he must do to them. Thats Erick, Carne, and probably J.max and Muscle.
3.) you can backdash out of the missile trap.
4.) There are some characters that Brocken beats pretty bad, as he can zone them all day and they can do very little. Rasputin has a very hard matchup vs Brocken, probably 3-7 or worse.
And funny though…if gotta play your Rasputin…I will probably just get Ryofu…lol.
Brocken seems low tier at this point IMO…
No. Mid. Only janne is low tier, because (imo at this point) she is the only character without any advantaged matchups.
That makes sense…
How far we have come…
We should really look into this stuff in the future before we tell people who is tops.
Ryoko is S class now lol. I don’t see why Ras is so bad. His feet are mad annoying though.
I think I forgot to put this in my Ryoko junk.
-hp has autoguard
-mk has autoguard
-c.mk has autoguard
-j. hp has autoguard
c.mk is the easiest autoguard to get imo.
s.mp and s.hk are her best pokes
Im just going to do a quick rundown of each characters apparent weakness, and give my latest GUESS at the tiers. Its a GUESS, but a, now educated one. Using these weaknesses, you can probably guess which characters can have the advantage over the listed character. (bad sentence is bad!). I may list a few notes/strengths in parenthisis.
Experts of peticular characters, please feel free to add or elaborate on any of this.
Hanzo - Mediocre EX, Below Mediocre Super, No real way to deal big damage outside of his infinite. (great DP, double jump, infinite, ABC)
Fuuma - Terrible damage, terrible combo options, mediocre EX (great DP, good supers, double jump, wall jump, air to ground throw)
Janne - Mostly poor damage, very poor specials, dp terrible for reversals (seems to have lots of good autoguard moves, very good super)
Carne - Slow jump (slide, reversal dp, wall jump, huge damage, super can CHIP like MAD)
Muscle - hard to deal with projectile zoning, probably hard to deal with runaway, command throw is only reversal, cant deal with safe jump-ins on wakeup (big damage combos, EX and Command throw can punish in a big way off 1 frame openings)
Rasputin - hard to deal with runaway, can’t deal with being outpoked, terrible super, okay EX (his only reversal option, unreliable), some problems with fast jumping characters (deals well with anyone who cant outpoke him, can lockdown a lot of the cast with simple paterns)
Brocken - piss poor damage, next to no knockdown moves, trades with his limbs often, no reversal (corner setups for unblockable hero super, tons of range, bomb shenanagans)
Dragon - no real reversal, retarded weak throws, mediocre ex, extremely mediocre super (wall jump, fast jump, high priority normals that combo easily)
Kidd - unreliable reversal (infintes and 100% combos, command grab super, highest jump in the game (not counting double jumps), a good ammount of autoguarding normals, big projectiles)
Erick - no reversal, crappy super, SLOW jump, meh EX (Big damage, useful guardbreak strings, good ammounts of autoguard normals, good to great range, GREAT projectile, excellent specials)
Maximum - hard time with zoning, meh EX, huge target (best DP in the game, one of the better supers, huge damage and combos)
Mudman - low damage, poor range, somewhat unreliable reversal (amazing corner trap game, great chip damage, good ex, ridiculous super)
Ryoko - poor range, poor combos, poor attack damage, cruddy ex, no reversal (great throw damage, great setups, wall jump, lots of autoguard)
Shura - cruddy jump, poor range, meh damage (good ex, good lockdown paterns)
Ryofu - no reversal, no fast close range moves, (great range, great damage, great paterns, great jump, great ABC)
Jack - no reversal, slow jump (good range)
Gokuu - no reversal, mostly low damage, meh super (wall jump, fast jump, rock move)
Anyone who has ‘no reversal’ is going to automatically have a harder time with hard rushdown from people with fast jumps (dragon, hanzo, fuuma, mudman, etc). Anyone who has poor damage is going to have to deal with the fact that 6 hits from the heavies get a win, while they have to hit 20+ times. (so you can see where Brocken falls apart… he dies fast to quick rushdown, and he cant deal with the damage that the big guys can put out)
Please, feel free to add. I know Xiggurat is a great Brocken player, and Goukisan is a great J.max.
I personally feel that I know Rasputin, Erick, Carne, Mudman, and Fuuma very well at this point.
I know Josh is very comfortable with Muscle, Gokuu, Ryofu, Kidd, Shura, and Carne, and probably more.
This game is GREAT! Get playin on that P2P everyone!
Holy Jesus Adam.:wasted:
I like watching Josh’s Muscle too, he makes him seem broken though lol. Ryoko can easily overcome her range issues by using the pokes I posted earlier. Using those in combination with dashing gets her in pretty decently, not to mention that dashing mp’s combo. Her super is kinda lame. It should only be used when you’re in the corner, they’re in the corner, or when used as a meaty. The lp version is safe, which is good for setting up throws and dash pressure. Her hp version is unsafe, but when used as a meaty you get a decent amount of chip damage if they’re in the corner.
Random note- Her standing lp beats Muscles jump in elbow lol.
Whoops, forgot to guess at the tiers! Not in order within the tiers!
S-Hanzo, Kidd, Ryofu
A-Carne, Muscle, Rasp, Dragon, Erick, Max, Mud, Gokuu
B-Fuuma, Brocken, Ryoko, Jack
C-Janne, Shura
Shura is probably the best in the C class. Every character can win, so long as their matchup isnt bad… even Janne. Its just janne probably has the least ammount of winning matchups. Most of hers are probably even.
Edit - Luigi - Get the notation right. You are talking about her EX move, not her super.
EX Move - powered up special using Hero bar
Super - DM that can only be done with 50% life or less
Hero Super - DM at 50% or less WITH Hero bar
Ryoko’s Super (the baghead grab) is fine. Its her EX thats mediocre. And its no good as a meaty, as they can backdash on REACTION to the superflash.
Yeah I meant her EX. If they’re in the corner, they can backdash out of the beginning of it, but they still get hit by lile the other 8 hits. I time it so that she just forms the ball just as they stand up. If I did it any later, I could get raped for free.
youll gete thrown doing it that late. they can also dp on reaction (hanzo fuma jmax). its not as solid as you think.
Hmmm. I guess I’ll have to take your word for it since you have more exp. than me.
