World Heroes Gorgeous

Also correction…World Heroes Gorgeous is NOT the only Collection that has a training mode…all of them do…you just gotta look for the guy lifting the weights on the high set of options near the games…he’s there…

so what character do you play in whp now lukas? jack is strong, we found some good stuff with him. maybe you shouldnt give up on him, but also have a backup to counter his bad matchups…

I aint giving up on Jack…he’s my starter tournament character…hes to weed out people…if they get past him…its time…

FOR BROCKEN.

Brocken huh? Ill look forward to seeing him (limb trade) (lol)

Yep limb trade indeed…I’ll take it…its a trade of styles indeed…Jack and Brocken… and Rasputin…you better believe it…with me also being able to play everyone in casuals…and everyone does have some stuff…

I like Jannes far st. a poke and some of her stuff…so I use her first like always in casuals now-and-days…

I think you misunderstood. No one in the game hits weaker than Brocken. Limb trading with just about any character is a bad thing.

Ahh gotcha…then I guess that means I will keep Rasputin ready to go…and possibly Ryofu…I can play everyone too so its ognna sck to countermatchup…

Its gonna be a long time at the Character select screen Josh…

Lukus, it’s gonna be good times…and I really wanna see what you have with Brocken, I’ve been playing him a little while and think he kinda sucks honestly.

Also, for the tournament, we need to make this clear: Zeus and Neo-Dio are BANNED, Son Gokuu is LEGAL. If anyone bitches, they’re more than welcome to try him against us… =D

EDIT: To expand on this further, I think Gokuu has some S-tier tools with D-tier damage. Thus, most of his matchups are probably in the 6:4 - 4:6 range. Ryofu completely murders him, and Hanzo & Kidd have solid advantages. I’m not sure about Rasputin, because I don’t know whether Gokuu’s d,u+P beats his low MP - whoever has priority there is the favorite in that match.

Overall I would rank him a solid A, as he 6:4’s most of the cast besides S tier. Hardly a game-breaking force, and he is playable in the arcade, so I don’t see the need for a ban. And he plays quite differently from everyone else - I find him a lot of fun, and would say he’s my 3rd best character now.

See Josh I’m iffy about whether I am going to use Brocken against you…because yeah I noticed lately that his damage output SUCKS…

He takes SOOOO long to kill you with…

But yeah other than that depending on who you pick is gonna determine who I pick…lol.

ITs not just that his damage sucks, Lukas… its also the fact that his attacks extend his own hitbox TONS and it makes it easy to trade with him. And, when he trades, he always loses on damage. When he trades with Max, Carne, Ryofu, Muscle, or Erick… its GGPO…

I second Gokuu being fair after seeing him. A lot of his stuff is risky, and the rest does tiny damage. He has to work for it. Probably low A tier, or high B.

After playing Gokuu some more I agree.

As of now my tournament characters are Jack, Rasputin, Dragon, Ryofu…

First off, thanks to Spootz for initially suggesting that Gokuu be allowed in tournaments! I hadn’t thought of that at the time, and now he’s one of my favorites.

Fun times, fun times.

Learned a lot of new things with the monkey, both good and bad.

Here’s something neat: After bouncing back from his throw, you can attack in the air (worthless) or wall jump (a great option). But that’s not all…right as he flashes white, you can cancel the animation into any special! This is actually useful with dp+LK or MK - keeps you somewhat close to the opponent, with advantage. I recommend it against characters with good anti-air, or when you’re too far away to reach the wall. Unfortunately, it does not seem to work with the super.

Very Important General Tip: You can shake out of guard crushes, and even BACKDASH out of them! This turns it into a mindgame, since backdashes do have recovery, but that’s still better than guaranteed damage!

Have fun,
Josh.

Is it a good idea to wavedash/stutter step in this game?

Hmm? What exactly do you mean? I don’t recall anything like wavedashes being possible in this game.

Ok, they’re not exactly wave dashes. Try dashing and doing a taunt to immediately stop yourself and then dash instantly out of your taunt. You can also do f,f,(b,f) repeat parenthesis. I like the first one better just because you get to see Ryoko show off her guns (muscles) for a split second lol. I use it to skid into a max range grab super with her. I also use it for doing jimp in mk, cr.mp, dashing mp, dp+hk. It doesn’t combo on some characters otherwise so why not always do it lol.

Interesting little trick there…

Wow, that’s really cool actually, thanks a lot!

This could be rather helpful with Ryofu - after his forward throw, he can’t get a crossup on some characters. This could allow him to do that, which would be downright scary with his ghetto tri-jump!
