How much cash was wasted importing Japanese consoles and the Japanese game just so that instead of Akuma you’ve got Gouki, and Box/Dic/Claw change their names around. ‘Having’ the Jap~ version doesn’t make you weeaboos, but going out and importing it instead of buying the EU version does, or maybe it was just to placate the visitors from the land of the rising sun, since they generally hate baguette munchers.

Rog is improving - been listening to RMZ and Zak a lot for info, they’re teaching me a lot. Doing the general studying too. From what I hear, your Honda is levelling up a lot!
I plan to get an Xbox. I think for Super it’ll be a necessity to not fall behind. Fortunately Casino has enabled me to bridge the console gap somewhat and play some of the UKs best, as well as chat about stuff and just learn.

Because I can’t get to Casino I have to rely on playing as many top players online as I can. The French guys do it all the time and it seems to be okay for them so far. They have loads more comps too though - a bit like a finishing school lol.
Apart from the guys on here giving info, I am going to say the coverage is a bit weak. I watched GodsGarden earlier and they did a great job with a stream, updating brackets…etc. Considering the name of the competition, you would of thought they would have a dedicated site with updates, brackets and what not in real time.
You can just set your console settings to Japanese, you don’t have to import anything.
Slizzle was saying how much you’ve improved in a quick space of time, and how it’s a constant improvement etc. He hyped you up - don’t disappoint me :p.
Soon as I’m on XBL, I’ll add them all or ask them for invites. Certainly looking forward to challenging Alioune. Thankfully by the time I get one I should be a much better player - I’ll still get buss up, but not as badly :p.
Slizzle hey. Thats probably got something to do with my first set as Honda against his Sagat and then how things have gone from there. In our first ever set about 3-4 months ago I got bust up and then got a message off him about the match up. We then started again and I think I went pretty much even with him for the next 6-7 games. His Gat is tough to play for sure. Talking off Slizzle is he at Cannes?
Speaking of Honda too, how are you doing in that match these days? I asked about Lord DVD in here and there he is popping up in the team final. I want to see his fight against Eita as Gouki is no cake walk for Honda… or anyone for that matter - Guys got a sick Honda and he plays pad. I asked WGE to film how he does hands on pad…just find the concept wierd, but his execution is spot on.

I know you can set the language to Japanese but that wouldn’t change it from being region locked against NTSC-jap games would it?
Pretty sure changing all your settings to Japanese ingame won’t change Akuma to Gouki etc either, just the dialogue and menus.
Well Italy got to quarter final with kurosaki. Now I feel better losing 10-0 or 10-1 in the akuma mirror every time I meet him, hahah!

Daigo said that USA and Europe have the same level and that 2 players were above all the others : Justin Wong and Alioune.
He said they have a higher level than anyone else in Europe and USA.
Slizzle’s in the UK, we’re going to a tournament tomorrow. RMZ, Sky, Yota and probably others are attending. His 'Gat is pretty nasty - he’s been helping me a lot with the match up.
I’ve only played one match against a Honda since, and because my execution drops drastically at the arcade (not adjusted yet), I missed 2 punishes that’d have won it comfortably. I was sticking to mid-range, keeping Honda out for most of the match - I felt okay, and safe in the knowledge my TE would have been a win for sure! Thanks for your advice before - hope to go through it with you in detail once I have an Xbox!

Dafro, Who was the Honda. Cuong is in France…Afii, Only Grim or Lumpy? Arcade is wierd if you dont go all the time. I went to Hitbox and came top 8 with own stick…etc. Go to the arcade, loose buttons and stick, seat puts you at a different height…it does take a bit of getting used to for sure and I don’t show what I have consistently there either. You’ll find most people are better at offline sessions with a stick on their lap these days.
As for my games vs Rog, I don’t mind it anymore. Just such a dry match and one of the hardest to win when Rog gets the life lead. Its such a fight of patience most of the time, which was proving to be my biggest problem. I use Oichos as much as I can in that fight these days so that Rog has to take risks or use meter on his wake up to escape the pressure. I also used to jump in too much and Rogs c.hp is just too good to play like that. Basically, knockdowns, wake up pressure, life lead, turtle, counter, wait for overhead or mix ups and punish/defend. Not always like this, but same goes for Rog, once Honda gets a goodish lead its really not easy.
