Dudley forum is the BEST
I hope you were trolling when you said Dudley forums is the best.
Anyway, can someone please explain why EX Duck xx Upper won’t cancel right away? I use 3 kicks for EX Duck because I play on pad, but when I cancel with either LP, MK, or HK, it does not cancel right at the very first cancel-able frame. It feels like the game won’t recognize the input for the cancel button (lk, mk, hk) when I try to do EX MGB, Duck xx straight, ex duck xx upper. I have to play as if I was on a stick and press LK + MK (or LK + HK) and cancel with any of those kick buttons that isn;t 3 kicks. Seems like when I EX duck with 3 kicks, none of the next kick inputs won’t be recognize instanty compared to let’s say, EX Duck xx Straight (which the inputs show instantly)
idk if I even explained it right, anyone understand? should I make a video of it demonstrating it or does someone get this at all? fffffffffff it’s frustrating because I can end combos in ex duck straight, so I do 2010 combo enders it’s ridiculous.
It’s all thanks to the bane of my existence: negative edge a.k.a. poor coding. Although, the way that you explained it, the only reason anything comes out in your method is because of negative edge. Seeing as how you play on pad, I would assume that your triple kick is mapped to the left trigger. Since it is a trigger, there is more travel time. Because of this travel time you can potentially “hold” the button longer than normal, despite thinking that you are pressing it normally. Because it is all three kicks, the game sees that all three kicks are being pressed already when you use a different button that is mapped to another kick. Hence this is why when you use the “stick player’s” method, you get the desired EX duck upper. You need to release the trigger, or whatever you use for triple kicks, faster. I have a similar problem with my method of doing the instant EX duck straight…
tl;dr Work on your execution bro.
Shoutouts to thirtyfour for this whole match especially the end.
I know you’re probably not asking. But if Rufus keeps Dive kicking at you over and over again, plink c.LP+c.LK with c.HP. Beware, it can be baited though.
ok i’ll try that next time.

since you’re pad you hsould use LK MK for EX Duck and HK for Upper

Only EX Duck straight

Wow. All I have to say is I will never say anything bad about Thirtyfour’s Dudley. I spent some time away from the game recently, but playing Thirtyfour today has really opened my eyes a bit. I’ve never been outclassed by another Dudley player like I was today. To be honest, I thought I was one of the best players around but after playing you it’s made me realize that I really only use Dudley to about 20% of his potential.
I have no zoning game, no technical mixups, my combo’s suck, and my mixup and block string game isn’t half as good. Connection and lag aside, you straight up schooled me on how to properly play the character.
It really takes a lot for me to say this about anyone, but really, I have to drop my hat to you Thirtyfour. You showed some real class.
reported for wrong color gloves.

Critique please
Before I critique this I would like to know something. Are you aware of your mistakes as you make them? It seems like you do, seeing as how you paused the replay a few times.
Punish combos, punish combos, etc. After a focus attack you did c.LP, c.LP, s.HK xx That’s day one auto pilot Duds, need you to think and react. Let’s see some damage.
When you scored a knockdown, you often did nothing with it. Seems like you were giving too much respect to the opponent and not enough self respect. Anybody who gets knocked down by Dudley should cringe. Kinda like how people cringe when Akuma, Ibuki, or Gief knocks them down.
If you are looking for wake-up DP, then go for safe jumps. I know Ibuki has weird wake-up timings like she gets up a frame faster after a forward throw or something. I suggest getting into training mode and figuring out some safe jumps. Does she still have that ridiculous 5 frames of invincibility after hard knockdown?
That dash up c.HK > s.HK is dirty. You got caught by that a few times. Unsafe on block but can SJC to make it safer.
That would-be super chips BS shouldn’t work on Dudley, EX duck that crap.
It seems you got frustrated later on. You started mashing jet upper and did random ultra. You gotta keep your cool.
I liked the CH f.MK hit confirm and the HP MGB whiff punsih. Good stuff
That reset was nice though. I don’t see other Duds go for that; I live for resets. One thing though, you used HK duck to cross under. Use MK instead, its faster so your opponent has less time to react. Also looks very similar to LK duck so it’s bit more ambiguous as well.
You did rather well blocking the vortex considering.
Also, change Ibuki to Japanese. English Ibuki has 10-0 matchups against the whole cast. Dat voice…
Thanks. I play this guy regularly and yea i did know my mistakes like the focus attacks into cr.lp blah i know i should’ve f.mk st.hk xx rape. Tanks for the tips and analysis!!!
upload a match of someone better than you, or of equal skill that you dont play regularly.
no point in playing the same person all the time looks at smileymike
