Well no offense Sano, but despite this, DeadPool is a mutant to me
Trailer was meh felt quite emo, nice Gambit scenes, but not enough DeadPool ;_;
pretty great quality. i saw the 480 pixel one and it was really high def. but it seems they have a 1080 pixel one that my comp cant open. just wondering, almost off topic, what would you open that with? the 480 pixel one is about half the screen.
its cool, you get to see a bit of Weapon XI there too.
Heh, it’s funny because currently in Marvel there’s another distinction. To be a Mutant your powers - powers, not appearances like Nightcrawler and Sub-Mariner - have to manifest themselves during puberty or close too, people born with powers now are considered something else. Which takes Jamie Maddrox AKA Multiple Man out of it because his powers started when the doc smacked his behind. And that even makes the baby born during Messiah Complex not a Mutant either (AFAIK, we still don’t know a lot about that baby). I forget what the distinction is called, I’ll have to look it up.
In MC2, Spider-Girl has all the signs of being a Mutant since her powers have kicked in since puberty, but it still has not been stated that she is such. There is evidence that Ben had powers since birth and it wasn’t just a mistake that accelerated his powers.
Shrug, personally I consider all of the above Mutants because if not it gets way too complex. So long as it’s in your DNA through natural means than you are a Mutant to me. I think in the long run that’s what’s going to hold up over time.
Okay looked it up. People born with powers are now called “Killcrops.” Interesting Q&A in My Cup’O Joe week 34 about all that -
**Daniel: Hey Joe,
*In X-FACTOR, writer Peter David explained that mutants who display their powers at birth are actually not “mutants.” Rather, he dubbed them “killcrops,” or genetic throwbacks of a sort.
Cable’s Messiah Baby was recorded at birth as being a mutant. Madrox and Siryn’s baby may follow suit. Are we going to get an exact explanation as to what the difference between a baby that exhibits the mutant trait at birth, and a killcrop?
Joe Quesada: Daniel, I think to a certain degree the jury is still out on the science on that one. It’s also a matter of definition, and some people might disagree that there’s enough of a distinction there to really indicate a difference between species. Other people?other scientists?would completely get on board with that notion. I imagine that debate is raging in the letters column of New Scientist magazine in the Marvel Universe.
Either way: the Messiah Baby was, possibly, something else entirely. It was VERY unusual that her birth set off alarm bells in Cerebra. That is NOT the normal way these things work. What does it mean? Well, the next big piece of that puzzle is in upcoming issues of CABLE?and X-FORCE.
For Madrox and Siryn’s baby, being born with powers is definitely a possibility. Mutant? Killcrop? Flatscan? X-FACTOR #39. Don’t miss it.***
once again joe with the non answers…thanks again u fat mexican dinner. cant he give a flat out answer for anything.
sano: does that mean morlocks arent mutants? i know a couple were born that way i believe and technically is nightcrawler a morlock just by appearance sake.
Morlocks isn’t really a Mutant designation or a ‘scientific’ term in the Marvel Universe. Morlocks are Mutants who went to go live in the sewers and called themselves just that. If you are a Mutant, you wish to live among them and they accept you then you can be a Morlock too. Which is why Storm lead them for a while.
As far as Nightcrawler goes, his father was a demon - hey don’t look at me, Austen’s run hasn’t been retconned yet, someone please do so - so that would attribute his tail, so that’s not the result of a Mutant power so to speak anymore. His blue fur is from his mom Mystique though.
I think it’s a power thing and not an appearance thing. So for Nightcrawler to be a Killcrop, he’d have to start bamfing everywhere when he was a baby and that wasn’t the case. Just for appearance, like if you were born with 2 noses that would make you a mutant by our real world definition, not by Marvel’s. Every Mutant in Marvel’s world has a power.
All of the Morlocks have powers, even Callisto has enhanced agility.
Leech was abandoned at birth because of his looks but it’s possible he had the power at birth too. Artie’s actual power came out when he was a little kid. Both have always been ugly though. And Marvel annoyingly refuses to age both of them… I just tell myself they are adult midgits now…
Course the whole Killcrop theory falls apart because Professor X had powers in the freaking womb when he gave Cassandra Nova the boot and that would make him a Killcrop and not a Mutant.
So yeah I think the Killcrop thing is just something that’s in X-Factor’s comic and either more light will be shed on what it means exactly or it will be done away with.
Um, yeah, if I were you I would just ignore the whole Killcrop thing and just consider all of the above Mutants. It’s not like anyone is going to remember that word ten years from now because it didn’t come out of Stan Lee’s typewriter. When’s the last time you heard the term ‘X-Ternal Mutant’ in X-Men? :looney:
kind of off topic, just saw the first Xmen movie and nearly fell asleep. i now remember why i stopped liking xmen for a while after the movie was released. im suprised they got picked up for a 2nd movie. but that 2nd movie was sweet. the 3rd, was more entertaining than the 1st but still hurt to see.
they got picked up for a second movie cuz it made bank…and im pretty sure it was a slow summer too…so that helped them a ton.
well yeah thats obvious cuz if you look at the way they handled rogue, its as if they were unsure if they were going to have a second film to put in a gambit. X1 kind of grounded most of the way the following movies came out. I doubt they would ever do a huge retcon like they do in the comics. Possible but rare
movies dont retcon they remake.
Every time Deadpool exclaims he’s a fellow member of the X-Men and a mutant someone is always there to discount him on both counts. This happens quite frequently.
^Except he IS a mutant and IS a member of the X-Men. The X-people just don’t like to be associated with him.
Nice pics of Deadpool in the movie.
More like “nice pics of Ryan Reynolds swinging two swords.”
I hate shit like this. Yeah, RR has said all along he wants to play DP but what do we get when it finally happens? RR in a red shirt and doesn’t even remotely resemble DP in any way. I wasn’t expecting a mask because God forbid Hollywood covers up an actors face with a mask, but there’s not even a hint of any facial scarring at all.
Rumor has it he gets scarred during some point in the movie and then dons the mask.
I’ll believe it when I see it.
It’s on several sites that I can’t be bothered to look up. Check out some of the Hugh Jackman interviews. It’s pretty much confirmed that he will have his mask in the movie.
^ damn you got me excited. I thought you meant wolverine might be wearing the mask. that doesnt make sense since they had him in all the X movies with no mask
the bottom two pictures looks like a scarred person in red attacking logan.
scarred + red = wade
thats what i assumed…the site was like thats not deadpool…im thinking yes it is u idiots.
