Hey Andrew and WI:
I posted in the other thread about me coming out to Wisconsin this summer (Should be after the fourth of July and before the 12th). I was wondering if we could possibly throw a welcoming tourney (or a party, whichever works) so I can meet the WI crew. I already met Tim and Jaron, and it would be a pleasure meeting the rest.
Haha, “the darkside feels good.” Too true. But seriously, when you play a character and know all the in’s and out’s of the character, then it becomes much easier to fight against that character too. That’s actually why I started playing Ken in the first place; I was getting raped for free and didn’t know how to stop it. Now, when I use a non-Ken character (like Dudley, Urien, Makoto, etc) and fight against a Ken, I’m way more competent and able to compete. We can definitely do a $1 ft3 MM at DBQ.
So, I don’t think Nick, Jerry, and Adam are coming to DBQ. That puts my car count at 4 people. If we hold at 4 people, we’ll take my Corolla. $15 per person. Schedule is still the same.
This Friday (11th), I should be free after work to get some games in. Who’s free after 5:30pm this Friday?
well i guess it all depends on if we can convince you to drive back home after the tournament or not. i have no problem driving an odyssey for 3 hours if your feeling nappish. the only other alternative is taking a seperate car, which we can’t afford. so its not an alternative. i was totally planning on jerry being my sugar daddy because i’m shamefully broke right now, so if he can’t go, then i can’t possibly spend my grocery money on a tournament in iowa.
anyway, friday should be cool. does anybody play last blade 2? just picked it up the other day and can’t stop playing it.
Why didn’t Jerry plan for this tourney? Was he not able to ask of in time? I posted the Iowa plan WAAAYYY long ago, so it’s not like it wasn’t obvious as to what we were planning on doing that weekend. We’re definitely staying overnight; the tourney is cool, but I was really looking forward to the IL guys crashing at Murph’s place for mad casuals. Casuals is where it’s at for me at tourneys… strange, I know.
I’ll call you when I’m leaving work on Friday just to make sure you’re home. I’ll probably kick it from 5:30pm-10-ish? if that’s cool with you. 3rd Strike for life!!! Could Jerry/Adam be there on Firday too for casuals?
jerry is basically a masochist when it comes to working, what with two full time jobs. so trying to get him to do anything fun is near impossible. apparently he blames me for not telling him the overnight plan, despite the fact he lurks SRK on a daily basis.
i dont know about adam, he doesn’t have a phone. if i tell jerry like right now, maybe he can move his retarded schedule around for some matches. we played last friday so i dont see why not.
seriously though, last blade 2? anyone? how about samurai shodown? i like swords.
If you get Jerry to hang out on Friday night, that’d be cool. I really wish he could fix his schedule for this Sunday so that we could get back to Milwaukee around 3-4pm. That’d be the best. His Hugo is pretty damn solid, and I’d love for him to steal a few wins from MN, IA, IL, etc…
Also, how does Adam function in 2008 with no phone? Has he developed telepathy to communicate with people not standing within 10 feet of him?
Sharon has a lot of homework and stuff to do, so she isn’t going to come, so if there’s space now, it would be a lot better for me to just ride with you.

That’s how it looks right now. Tim, would you be able to get to/from Jude’s house so I only have to make one stop? That’d be more convenient for me. Or Jude getting to/from your place, whichever house is more on the way to DBQ.
EDIT: Nick, would you be available after 5:30pm either on Wednesday or Thursday? I want to pickup my DC converter… and play some games if you have time. If you don’t, then at least to pickup the converter for Iowa. Let me know.
