Syxx - I get the impression you don’t know anything about Jesse Howard. Believe me, I have complete respect for him both in how he plays ST and also as a person the way he treats fellow competitors in real life. He completely deserves the free spot IMO. As far as getting your spot on the midwest HDR team I might just have some great and exciting news for you. I can’t attend Evo this year. Not only that but I can’t attend MWC on Friday when all the ST/HDR stuff goes down and thus I may or may not even make MWC altogether. Hard to say but if I come it would be on Saturday I’m guessing unless something drastically changes. So I mean no offense but I think I probably would have won a spot so without me coming that will open up a spot for other hopefuls. I hope you have kept practicing/improving because I know how badly you have been wanting a spot for this.
Rex - although I completely disagree with you that HDR is boring (it’s a better game than SF4, believe me) I like your thoughts on the midwest team lineup at Evo. Like you said maybe Seth doesn’t count anymore. Not sure. Floe would be another good one to put in there maybe? I think he’s quite good with Balrog especially, not quite as much with his Ryu. He should stick to Balrog IMO. Whoever makes it I can’t wait to hear how it goes down at Evo. I am certainly bummed out that I can’t be apart of the team and I think I sure deserve it. I know it’s a really cocky thing to say but in my mind this won’t be the true Midwest team without me on it. I would say the same if others like Nick/Jesse/Wes were missing. I am of course assuming Wes will have no problem winning his own spot. If both Wes and I are absent from the team then, boy, I dunno what the heck is up with team Midwest.
Like I said I have a lot of respect for the midwest st players and not many of us came out of the woodwork with the release of HDR (I had to work my way up with 0 knowledge of the game other than how to do special moves). So this is gonna be some of the new players’s chance to shine. Yes I know who Jesse Howard and almost all of the (good) ST players are in the midwest. I’m gonna make them work for it in the singles tournament. The last tournament I was in (40 some people) I didn’t even lose a ROUND until winners finals… which I won… it’s over if people take some of the upper mid-tier players for granted.
Oh and really bad news that you can’t make it to MWC this year I was looking forward to seeing you and playing you again. I actually have anti-vega strats now lolol
