Holy shit, $99 for a new PS2? I’m totally all over that. I need a new PS2 since mine bit the dust a couple of weeks ago, and S!AH2 is so fuckin’ close.
Only a few days, guys…maybe a tourney at my place? Who knows? We shall see.
FYI - The Swap Magic mod is sooooo much better when you work with a brand new PS2. You’re not gonna need to tape anything, period, because all the adhesive will stay where they are. I modded mine when I bought it in the fall of '07 and haven’t had to do anything to it since.
I also recommend to just open up the PS2 and cover up the micro switch in the base, instead of inserting the piece that holds down the switch near the spring. Although it voids the warranty, the other option (pressing down the switch near the spring) puts more toll on the PS2.

I found the site that shows how to wire up a PS2 pad in a stick, finally. I won’t use the old Dual Shock 2 that’s here because it’s still fully intact, but I have a disassembled one somewhere.
My stick will be back up and running in a few days. Until then, it’s back to el pad. We gotta play again this week some time for sure.
