I’m just happy for crossplay, and you are right pc is more if you dont have a decent pc, but its less for someone like me who had to only upgrade the video card and be good to go, not to mention plus membership to play over 5 yrs = 250$.
Very true, over time the PC version ends up being about the same price without those yearly PSN prices. I have xbl and psn at the moment. Im not sure if im gonna renew my xbl now.
PC ends being cheaper in the long run. Not having to drop $50 yearly for online and the potentially buying the game for the price of a Subway sandwich during a sale. Your previous stick will still work with the game and not need to invest in a new one if PS3 end up not being supported.
PS4 for many reasons. #1 would be that I was living under a rock for the past 20 years and thought PC gaming died in 1995. But on the bright side, it’s good to smell some fresh air and see the sun again.
Let me take a look:
PS4:
$400 for console
$50 for a year of PS+
$150 for a Hori stick
$60 for SFV
Total of $660 for the first year, not including DLC.
PC:
$0 for a PC capiblie of running the beta that I already own (Needed to overclock CPU though)
$0 for arcade sticks I already own.
$0 for steam.
$60 for SFV (Already pre-ordered now)
Total of $60 for the first year, not including DLC
If my performance isn’t whiere I want it, I buy a beefier CPU for $100. Still less than a quarter of buying on PS4.
On top of that, I already own an Xbox One, because there are no good exclusives for PS4 that I can’t buy on PC. Xbox One actually has a few games I enjoy that aren’t on PS4 or PC, and I got it for $50 cheaper, so I guess that’s an easy choice for me.
I will get for PS4.
Sony really helped to bring this game out.
Also, ruined 2 laptops in 2 years due to overheating so I will be sticking to consoles for games.
I think he ment for him, mine would be zeros across the board for PS4 since I have a PS4 compatible stick, I have a year of ps+ and paid off my SFV reservation for console. I really just haven’t paid for the PC version of the game. Price is only a factor if you are starting from scratch, which it seems like he would be.
Hes posting it as if this is the general rule though. For me it would be zero for PS4, Arcade stick and PSN since its already paid for a long time now. I brought the collectors edition of SFV so thats $99. Same for PC side of things, all i have to do is buy the game on steam. lol
Yeesh.
Discounted ps4 is 300$.
Ps plus for however long you use the console in it’s lifetime.
The game itself.
Whether or not your stick is supported and those vary from 50 to 200.
A Pc with ps4 specs is probably 600 alone.
Steam is free, sf5 is not and 50-60.
Sticks are usually supported regardless of age.
A fancy Pc that should never be compared to a ps4 will be 1000$
A ps4 is doing 1.8 teraflops at 400$ and has 16 512mb sticks of very fast gddr5 ram that you usually only see in gpus.
For an apu, the ps4’s is impressive and pretty damn resourceful and doing dedicated gpu performance given the tag.
However I stick to desktops because I waited for vista and 7 to dwindle after seeing how windows 8/10 turned out.
I felt the metro interface.
I could buy an old pre-built with a quad-core for dirt cheap and stuff a new GPU/Power Supply into it, stay under a $400 price limit and call it better than a PS4- but the price game is ages old and intrinsically meaningless unless we establish arbitrary ground rules for what is essentially a dick-measuring contest. Play on whatever is more economical for you, and if you go PC, be prepared to buy a PS4 compatible stick for tourneys.
I went PC because I already have a powerful gaming rig, and it gives me an excuse to preorder one of those swanky new TE S+ sticks.
Don’t we still have to wait and see if that will even work? Have they confirmed that old sticks will work with SFV? I haven’t been able to keep up much lately.
I’m in the same boat as @Projectjustice though. Addicted to buying sticks.
Got it on PC. Saves me money from paying for online and having to buy other PS4 peripherals, plus I don’t really have friends on PSN that are interested in SF or even own a PS4
