I think the rape charges are just a way to keep him in custody until they can bring the charges against him. I don’t really like this as he’s more of the messenger (even if he’s being reckless with the information), charging the data analyst with espionage would make more sense imo.

I don’t think you people are giving are government enough credit, the rape charges are legit. Theres no way we would use something so outlandish to keep him in jail, theres so many other things that are more reasonable and less suspicious looking that we could have charged him with if we wanted to fake something to keep him their.

The criminal charges on Assange are very real, but since the charges seemed relatively minor, they weren’t pursued. But when he started this wikileaks thing and started leaking confidential information, they dug up any information they had on him and they found a rape charge. Probably had other crimes attached to his name(I personally think all people do) but this one in particular gives the government an excuse to denounce his actions, portray him negatively, and hold him in custody until they can get an espionage trial going.
They have to be careful about this though, SRK=/= the rest of the world and not everyone believes that “he got what was coming to him” and it is “Julian is a scumbag who spied on this great nation”…
EDIT: Communism in Marx’s eyes is not the communism we have today imo.
Also one thing I found interesting in the leaked documents, was that China doesn’t like the NK at all, so if they go to war, China is not backing their asses up with firepower. I doubt they know what to do with all of the current NK refugees they have now.
