I think the music in other m is also pretty weak so far compared to the prime games but maybe its just me.
It’s not just you, I think you’re on point with that one. The music in Prime was great, it’s just ok in M.
Also, someone must have shit in Morgan Webb’s Wheaties the morning she did that review on G4. What a bitch she can be…

I was trying take a hard look at the specs for GC, Wii, and Xbox when the Doom 3 question came up again. If the specs are true then it’s definitely on par with XBox…and close to double the power of GC. The ‘2 cubes stuck together’ comparison isn’t farfetched. Nintendo still has been keeping somethings about the system’s power close to the chest so others had to find ways of measuring the power themselves. So again…I can’t honestly know the reason for why there hasn’t been anything at least graphically equatable to Doom 3 besides what I mentioned before. The only way we could really find out is if a developer or someone in the industry could actually explain why that is…I’d be curious for the answer myself.

The “problem” with Other M’s music is that it seems to be mostlly of dark ambience, like something appropriate for games like Dead Space or Resident Evil. It’s that kind of soundtrack.
I think this game rocks, frankly. Yeah, it’s not going to be remembered as having a Super Metroid or Prime caliber soundtrack, but I think what’s there is effective in establishing a creepy experience.
Loving the action, the Metroidy exploration in 3rd person moments, and just feel of the game. That which I thought I really didn’t like (the First Person mode (action and seeking)) at first, I’ve grown used to and kind of appreciate at times. I’ve gone through two of the FP seeking moments and didn’t have problems finding what I was supposed to find. I could be wrong, but it seems to me that SOUND is the big hint. It lets you know when you’re getting warm.
Finally got my copy today and put in a couple of hours. I’m pretty much enjoying it so far and yeah it’s definitely pretty linear so far but that isn’t a bad thing to me. I want to delve more into the game tomorrow and like I figured I don’t have a big issue with Samus’ voice or any of the other people really. I think it’s probably just getting used to the fact that she’s speaing sentences and having conversations. She does sound a bit robotic but it’s usually only when she’s monologuing which again isn’t a problem for me…I don’t expect Samus to be excited/angry/emotion unless it’s something that actually requires it. Thumbs up/Thumbs down thing was kinda funny to me and even though it’s kinda silly I like the explaination for it.
Have to agree so far on the music though…This game so far definitely won’t be the most memorable at all in that department. Not to say that it’s bad in any way it’s just not something that’s going to get stuck in your head. I’ll reserve any other judgements on it though until I get way deeper in.
Was also expecting Adam to be a bet more douchey for some reason but so far he’s only given some lame ass explanation for why Samus can’t use Power Bombs…seriously…when one person sets C4 the other members of the squad don’t just chill around it looking stupid.
Let me ask you guys a question: Is there anyway to get game saves off a Wii that won’t boot up? Before someone asks, no it wasn’t hacked or anything. I believe something internal happened because it turns on but nothing comes on the screen and the controller won’t work.
So after getting the wb, I am officially one of those who’ll say this game is a masterpiece. I am CONSTANTLY enjoying this game! Nothing is irking me. I don’t get the reviewers who roasted this game and claim to be fans of the Metroid series. This is an awesome step in a different yet familiar direction.
The boss fights are pretty cool in other m. Ridley is awesome in this game that guy never gets old.

Despite being a Metroid vet in the sense that I’ve been at the series since the first (since childhood), I’ve never 100%'d a Metroid game. What I’d like to know is in Other M is it possible to MISS OPPORTUNITIES to get 100%, or are you able to jump back into your completed save file and continue searching for all the upgrades that would net you 100%?
Anyone played that Cursed Mountain? Reviews seem to be mixed but with more positiveness toward it than negative, and it seems a decent looking game to me.
Copped Other M 2 days ago. I’m enjoying it so far. Gonna try to get as much gameplay in for the next couple of days.
Nah there is no way to miss anything. You basically have to come back for things later.
Sorry for taking so long to answer but unfortunately I can’t think of anyway myself to get info off of a wii that won’t boot up. I’m not sure if Nintendo would move your stuff if they fixed it either and even if they did I’m sure whatever price they charged to get it fixed would most likely not be worth it.
Cursed Mountain looked interesting and I got mixed things from some of the customers I talked to about it. I’m pretty sure it’s pretty cheap now…you may even be able to rent it.
