Wii Thread 4.0, WEEUWEEUWEEUWEE!

Yeah I knew all that, but I was kind of asking in situational sense for scoring purposes.

You can use it for hordes of enemies. It increases the multiplier faster. Just aim it in the middle of a group instead of using the red reticule that shows where to lock on. Also getting hit decreases the multipler, but not getting hit in this game is easier said than done.

**Oh man, I picked up the Classic Controller Pro cause my Wavebird (6-7 years old) thumb sticks are wearing out which i’ll open up and replace the parts in the future but damn.

This controller is great, I set the buttons for Brawl to make it like the GC and it’s way better than the Nyko Wing controller, the analog sticks are way more accurate and I love having two separate shoulder buttons so throwing stuff feels like the natural GC way.

Only problem with the controller is it could use some curves where your middle fingers go, but other than that it’s a great controller.**

My S&P2 came in today, and I’ve played up to Stage 3. This is already one of the best Action games of all time. Simply phenomenal! I’m going to have to take a nap before getting back to it, but I’m going to put in some serious work with this game. I’m looking at completing Hard with no continues and putting up respectable scores on that difficulty level.

The only thing that kind of sucks about this game is that it is too long for me to play in a sinlge sitting, unlike with a game such as Ikaruga. To get the highest scores, you pretty much have to complete the game without continuing. That’s like #1 in the criteria. So, I guess I’ll be using the home button a lot while playing this.

3.5 It didn’t look THAT bad from the gameplay I saw on it but then again I’m not the one playing it lol. Definitely agree on the boring environments though…Doesn’t matter either way though since S&P2 is out. In either case…get back to work on that rumored Punch-out!! sequal Next Level.

8.5 It’s a Lego game if you’ve played any of the past Lego games and are a fan of Harry Potter then I’m pretty sure you can probably guess as to what the game is like.

Pleeeeeeeease make sure you get good english voice actors…

There’s a decent chance I’ll buy RRTIT because of the online multi. Motion Plus usage pleases me a great deal as well.

Thanks for all the S&P links! I’ll be picking it up tomorrow I think, along with a TvC fightstick  i’m excited.

Just watched the Skyward Sword trailer on IGN… I can’t believe they are bringing back the slingshot again. Jeez, of all the weapons, you’d think they could drop that one since it is useless compared to both the bow/arrow and the new guided bug launcher.

Totally agree. It’s always my least used item after the beginning. I mean, it’s completely outclassed.

I know what you mean…at least in OoT it had more purpose for being their since they had the Kid/Adult dynamic going on. It was even more apparent in Twilight Princess when you used it for the first couple of hours and then never again. I’m assuming it’s just going to be used as the weaker projectile weapon until you get the bow and arrow. I don’t mind the slingshot being there if they atually gave it more purpose other than being the weaker projectile weapon. Speaking of which I should probably raise the LOZ thread from it’s grave…

So who here is thinking about picking up Arc Rise Fantasia out of curiosity? It doesn’t sound like they’re going to fix the voice acting…I already talked to a friend of mind about it and he said it’s not going to deter him from enjoying the game so I’m curious if some of those same thoughts are shared here.

I’m also pretty hype for Other M right now. It’s gonna be a pretty long wait the end of August. I’m hoping my store gets a nice poster of Samus so I can take it home and put it up…I already called dibs on it if we get one.

Edit:

GT’s newPop-Fictionepisode is interesting…didn’t know you could play Master Hand in Melee without using something like an Action Replay

I?ll be picking up Arc Rise Fantasia I actually went to pick it up this month I guess it got pushed back without me noticing. I also have to agree with Other M hype even if it turns out bad props to Nintendo for taking risk with one of its more popular and one of my top 5 games series.

Let us know how the game is whenever you get a chance after it comes out.

Thatreader’s interview with Miyamotoon IGN got put up. I’m not suprised there wasn’t any question about Kamiya and Starfox but eh…had to try. But really though…the question about ‘an add-on for Wii that simulates taste’ could have been replaced by something else.

Also related to that… it sounds like Miyamoto has been in the lab thinking up another character. We might here more on this next year.

Club Nintendo’s rewards got revealed today. I don’t know why I haven’t signed up on this stuff yet…Free stuff is free stuff.

lol I signed up and registered a bunch of games I had and was able to get platnium status I got the figure and some Zelda posters. It seems to me that Club Nintendo > Coke rewards in terms of how easy it is to collect points.

Club Nintendo is the shit, I couldn’t get enough points for platinum.

So I got that stupid calender.

NPD May 2010
Red Dead Redemption Tops May Sales - Xbox 360 News at IGN

Red Dead Redemption completely owned in may by taking both the 1st and 2nd spot for each console and sold over 1.5 million copies. Alan Wake sold less than 200,000 copies but still managed to make top 10. and both UFC 2010 titles made the list. There’s this big ass gap separated the top 3 of the list in comparison to everything else. Also of note none of theracing games that came out that month cracked top 10 with the closest being ModNation at 15. Considering the fact that Alan Wake didn’t make 200,000 copies and it’s no.8 you can probably guess where those games stand in relation. I’m hoping that they’ll just be slow burning for the rest of the year.

Software went: RDR (360, 945.5K), RDR (PS3, 567.1 K), SMG2 (563.9K), UFC 2010 (360, 221.1K), UFC 2010 (PS3, 192.3 K), WFP w/ Board, NSMB Wii, Alan Wake, Pokemon SS, Skate 3 (360)

The hardware sales apparently are on a bit of a decline in comparison to last year mostly from the portable consoles…that didn’t stop DS from still being on top. Hardware went: DS (383.7K), Wii (334.8K), 360 (194.6K), PS3 (154.5K), PSP (59.5K). Well…at least PSP is doing better in Japan right?

Japan Numbers 7/2/2010
Xbox 360 Surges in Japan - Wii News at IGN

Monster Hunter Frontier Online got released on the 360 and gave it quite the significant push considering that I think for the first time in awhile it’s numbers actually came close to both Wii’s and PS3’s. It also took the top spot this week. Ghost Trick got shifted down to 8th spot and SMG2 seems to just be hanging out in the middle. No NSMB Wii in sight at all on this list. Atelier Totori and a game called White Album both for the PS3 also showed up.

Hardware went: Dsi LL, PSP, PS3, Wii, 360, Dsi, Lite, PS2, Go

lulz

**Well I got the Zelda posters from Club Nintendo today, and i’m getting the Figurine set since I got to platinum status at Club nintendo.

By the way, i’m working on a Brawl Texture pack man i’m having so much fun with nintendo lately.
I despised nintendo at first because of the content lacking in Wii games.

But now they’re stepping up there game and making shit good again, only thing we need now is Pokemon Stadium 3, if that ever comes out i’ll literally go Super Saiyan 9001 from the amount of happiness. **

So I got some good time in with Jett Rocket and for the most part it’s a pretty solid wii ware title. It’s pretty easy and pretty short( I haven’t beaten it yet but I’m at 73% already…I know I’m just about done with it) but Shi’nen did a pretty good job with it. It’s kinda hard to not look at this game in a harsh light especially after just coming from playing SMG2 but it’s it ain’t Nintendo and it’s a Wii Ware title so I’d say if you’re looking for some short and sweet 3D platforming action on the side then you should probably give this game a go. I’ll go into more detail on my thoughts and the small issues with it a later period.

I traded in my motion plus because I didn’t have a use for it. Something tells me I’m gonna be kicking myself in the ass later this year.

The only upcoming game for the year I know of that seems to rely on M+ is FlingSmash. The Conduit 2 will use it but it will not be required. Speaking of FlingSmash, I don’t know why Nintendo didn’t push hard to have it out this month instead of this fall in the mist of a HUGE release schedule across Wii and other platforms. And then there’s the thing that kind of frustrates me about FlingSmash’s use of Motion Plus. While I understand that the fidelity of its motion-based control will be much stronger with M+, the gameplay itself doesn’t seem like something that relies on motion control. If there’s some light I need to see on this subject, someone please enlighten me. What I mean is that it’s not like looking at S&P2 or Trauma Center and thinking that this stuff most likely wouldn’t handle as well with the traditional controllers. Those games would have to be dumbed down in terms of level design because the precision and speed of cursor control just wouldn’t be matched with analog sticks. With FlingSmash, it just seems like a very fun alternative. This is important to me, no doubt. It’s just that I’d like to see MORE games that that truly prove the worth of Point & Motion. I’m very interested in the game anyway, but when THIS is what they come up with for a M+ reliant game, I feel a bit more discouraged about developers’ creativity when it comes to Point & Motion.

So, what grade would you guys give Wii’s first half lineup of this year? I’d have to give it an A! Best half of any year the Wii has had!
