10 stars in so far and having a blast. Shadowhaxor just put up the SMG2 gamerip on his website. I also wasn’t paying attention to the fact that there’s space seagulls flying around Spaceship Mario which I would find awkward if not for the fact that this is a Mario game. Also ‘Spaceship. This is more like a Faceship. Har Har.’
SMG2 is fun if you liked the 1st one you will like this one. It feels faster now that they have a Mario 3 style world map. I tried the cloud and rock power ups and there pretty cool also Yoshi is still awesome. I like the humor Nintendo as been using in the Mario games lately it actually makes you laugh sometimes.
there’s going to be retail and download versions of this title with the downloadable version not having all of the levels. Sounds like this game may have a $30 price tag which could be nice.
I had to remove MadWorld from the top 10 Wii games list on the front :(. SMG2 needed a spot though so I had to sacrifice something.
I’m probably thinking entirely too much into this but with Nintendo bringing Kirby Super Start to virtual console I’m wondering if this really is some coincidence especially considering that a newer and better version of this game is out on the DS. Would be reallly nice if it wasn’t…If Starfox for the SNES shows up in the coming weeks I’m going to get even more suspicious.
I think I’d find the pressure of doing this music with Miyamoto sitting there near unbearable. I’d imagine if someone played one note wrong he’d give them ‘the look’. Only reccomend watching if you care somewhat on what goes on while the music is being done with all the instruments.
What the motherfuck, they took out Samus getting the Hyper Beam from the baby Metroid to roll Mother Brain’s face (she shoots a fucking normal Charge Shot instead)?! Dammit, Team NINJA…DAMMIT.
I love that shot where they zoom into samus’ cannon and you can see all the inner workings of it with the plasma building before she ‘blows her load’ on mother brain. It definitely looks like a plain charge shot from that angle but we’ve never seen the blast actually hit mother brain…or seen the blast itself from any other angle so…never know.
Also something of interest in this Sin & Punishment: Star Successor developer’s voice featurette vid, they mention that they continued to work on the game after the Japanese version was fixed for the Western audience (5:47). Which probably means that US is getting the definitive version of this game. heh @ one of the comments in the vid saying that the music sounds like Metroid Prime 3…pretty sure I said that too.
I’v got about 60 stars so far…and I’m gonna plug in more hours before I head to bed tonight.
Japan Numbers 5/28/10
Lost Planet and Winning Eleven have practically taken over the top 10. Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2, MGS: Peace Walker, NSMB Wii, and Friend Collection (DS) were the only survivors of the onslaught. Full Metal Alchemist: To the Promised Day (PSP) also made it’s debut at #7. The Wii version of Winning Eleven didn’t make it in the top 10 though and is sitting at #15.
Hardware sales have seen a slump and the lineup has pretty much stayed the same. The only systems that saw an increase in sales was the Wii and the 360. Hardware went PSP, PS3, Wii, DSi LL, DSi, 360, Lite, PS2 and Go.
maaaaan…2nd bowser castle was fuckin nuts lol. I beat it on the first try but I’ll be damn if it wasn’t making my controls go in all sorts of directions.
Been playing Mario Galaxy 2. Loving the new stuff like Yoshi and the 2D parts. One thing that irks me though…Lubba is epic fail, give me Rosalina any day. Other than that, game’s near perfect.
Played a marathon of new super mario bros on wii with 3 players. Shit is just absolute nuts. Can’t imagine 4p. Some of those platforms just do not work with 4 mofos clinging on to dear life let alone 3 haha.
Target had a deal where if you buy SMG2, you get 20$ off your whole purchase if you buy another Mario game. . .so I got New Super Mario Bros Wii as well.
I’ve played a couple hours of both, and I’m pretty pleased. I think I’ve been too hyped by the reviews for SMG2–I mean, it’s good, but it’s not exactly the Second Coming that I heard that it was. The gravity level and the rotating capsule level in World-1 were great though. If the rest of the game has levels like that, then I’m sure as hell not going to complain.
Also, new Super Mario Bros Wii is 10x better than the DS game. I’m not sure what’s different about it compared to the DS game, but it’s a lot more enjoyable. Weird.
EDIT: And okay, holy crap. That Bowser fight at the end of World 2 was COMPLETELY EPIC. My mind was practically blown. . .even if the rest of the game is complete garbage, it’ll still be amazing because of that single boss fight. Just wow.
