Wii Hori Fight Stick

You were able to map them for recording in training mode in blazblue, heh. Don’t know of any reasons you’d want them. Less is more. Or else you’ll end up like this… What is this CRAP

In the guy’s case in the link it was to bring up the menu in an emulator.
I’ve seen no real reason to add them. Less is definitely more.

The commentary on those frankenpanels is priceless.

btw, i suggest you go stranded wire. The one you linked earlier was solid.

The one he linked already is stranded.
Says in description.
Laugh.

“already is”? You make it sound like it’s magically transformed. I could use a solid>stranded converter, I have way more solid than any sane person should have.

wow, radioshack FTW, click the specs and it says solid. The description should be right though

Yes, the specs say solid.
Laugh.

But the description says stranded.

The description for the other three-spool says solid.
And in the specs of that says solid also.
Laugh.

Oh, thanks! Stranded wire then, because it’s more flexible, I presume.

Oh, and what about digital and analog? By default, this stick is digital, but since I’m changing the PCB, it should be able to be used for both digital and analog. What would I need to create a switch between digital and analog?

No, you wont even be using the analog part.

what it’s good for though is converters. Most converters dont like a controller that doesn’t have analog support

Okay. What about the fact that the Hori stick has turbo switches and a Home button, and the PSX controller has an analog button? What do I do about that when soldering wires? Will the turbo switches, Home button, and analog button be useless and not functional?

But you won’t even be using the Analog function in the Dual Mod.
Except for Converters like Twinniss said.

Just wire up the Analog contacts from PlayStation PCB to the Home contacts on the Hori PCB.
When you are using PlayStation, just press Home for Analog.
When you are using Hori, just press Home for Home.

But this isn’t a dual mod. I’m removing the Hori PCB completely and replacing it with the PSX PCB. Then I plan on buying PSX/PS2 to GCN, PSX/PS2 to 360/PS3/PC converters. So, should the analog still be wired to the Home button? Because there will only be a PSX PCB in the stick, wouldn’t the turbo switches not work?

Oh, I was thinking Dual Mod.

Wire up the Analog to somewhere on the Turbo Panel.
You will press that Button for Analog.

Yes, Turbo will be gone.
You remove Hori PCB, so Turbo has to disappear.

I have a question about wiring things together. Unfortunately, the guide I found isn’t very detailed, and neither are the pictures.
X/Square/Circle/Triangle would correspond to A/B/X/Y; L1/L2 would correspond to L/zL; R1/R2 would correspond to R/zR; Start to Start; Select to Select; the Analog button to the Home button; DPad Up/Down/Left/Right to Up/Down/Left/Right. So, what about the two analog sticks? The left and right sticks operate differently, so should each analog stick be connected to a separate button? For instance, the Left analog stick connected to the A turbo switch and the Right analog stick connected to the B turbo switch?

Actually, it doesn’t look like anything is wired to the analog sticks in the images, but I’m not sure.

This is probably the hardest part of the entire mod, but it would be very helpful if I had a clear picture to understand what connects to what.

You won’t be using the Analog Controls as both Twinniss and I have said.

The only reason I had you wire up Analog Button is for Converter support.
PlayStation to PlayStation 3 Converters require you to press Analog Button to pop up Home.

Oh, okay. Thanks for being so specific about it. I understand now.
