Hey Jude, you’re really in motion about MvC3 aren’t you?
What would you like to know?
Thoughts:
22in HDMI TVs. On Tekken 6 and SSFIV I detected no lag of any sort.
Tons of games available at the venue, including multiples of SSFIV and T6.
Staff are cool and are actually gamers
Online connections are solid. 50 up and down on a Fiber Optic connection.
BTW guys, you want an MvC3 Launch Day tourney? Say the word.

What model TV’s do they have? Brand/Model number if you can find out. I’ll run a search.

Staff actually being involved with what they are doing is always a good thing. Fast Internet is a nice touch too.
A launch tournament would be good or maybe the weekend after the release, depends on when KC does theirs though.
DJ: Yes, I am a little excited.

Did anyone go to Maxout last weekend?
Darnell and I are planning an MvC3 tournament a week or so after launch. Darnell mentioned to me that he had some special ideas for it as well.

I checked the results thread for any Wichita tags but I didn’t see any, unfortunately.
EDIT: Oh yea, for anyone looking for the SE version of MvC3, Best Buy still has it for preorder.

My image of you has been shattered now
I think of Ekie as Steve Urkel now.
I laughed at the final boss battle for MvC 3.
EARTH… K.O.! YOU LOSE!
Anyone here ever play Earthbound?
Jude

Sadly I never have, it was one of the great SNES games that I missed out on.
Also cold weather sucks. No school today though.
Well, Mother 3 (AKA Earthbound 2 Unofficially fan translated) came out a few years ago. It’s such a dam good game and can’t believe I’ve only played it twice. I’ve played Earthbound though over and over and over ever since I was a little kid. Thank goodness for emulation as well.

Why do we keep talking about non-fighting game stuff? /derail
I looked into MvC3 stuff and I’m thinking about sticking Chris and Bionic arm guy in the team. They sound kind of fun. Chris might have some potential. C. Viper sounded too top tier, so I might put someone else in.
The weather is bad, so my job got cancelled tonight. Anyone up for some games?

I have to pick Sharon up from work at 3, I’d be up for something but I don’t know if I’ll have other things that I need to get done first. Also depends on what the weather is like.
I’ve been thinking about digging out my SNES for a couple of weeks now and haven’t gotten around to it. Today might be a good day for it. Since we are already derailed, what other games/series were you guys into back in the day?
Marvel really seems like they have done a good job of giving people unique playstyles and all being good enough to compete.

Yeah, I’m kind of impressed with it. It looks a lot better (balance wise) than MvC2 does. I sat down and watched the WCW3 low tier tourney vids, and they were really cool.
Back on the subject of fighting games, I can tell I’ve really stepped up my game. My execution is a million times better as well ever since I picked up a VLX arcade stick. I’m loving the feel of japanese style sticks and I can pull of shit easier then I would have compared to my mas stick. I’m definitely looking forward to playing against you guys again in SSF4 to see if I’ve actually leveled up. A buddy of mine here is good, really good, and understands the games very technical details, but his execution is awful at times and the current standing so far is like myself with about a total of 600 wins and I’m sure he hasn’t gotten above 50 yet. But he really does know how to play.
While I’m at it, does anyone want to buy a mas stick? I have 2 now, one that is ps2/ps3 only and another that is tri modded for Ps2/ps3 and 360. Probably even for PC as well.
I’m going to be a bit behind the learning curve on MvC3 because I’ll get the game a week or two into April when I get back.
Games I really loved playing though that weren’t fighting games back was definitely Megaman. As my name suggests I looked forward to EVERY Megaman release. Even to this day, every time I pick up a video game magazine, it’s been a bad habit for me to look at the table of contents and see if there is a new Megaman game coming out. I haven’t picked up Starforce at all because it looks really bad but I loved the Battle Network series.
Jude, you any good at any of the Battletoads games? I’ve always wanted to play with a friend to clear through it but they were never any good at games.
I also loved shooter games. Bullet hells are fun. I remember playing Gigawing a lot but only in an old arcade I used to go to. The volume was stupid low on that machine though so I could never hear what was going on.
I still remember when I got super addicted to DDRMAX2 and then I got addicted to music games.
Before I forget, I also LOVE bomberman. Especially super bomberman 5 on the SNES. I remember when I was a teen after a fighting game tournament, some old friends of mine used to gather and we’d play 5 player bomberman on a computer via emulation using usb controllers. It was fun as hell.

MvC3: It’s starting to remind me of TvC:UaS balance wise (at least it looks that way right now). Everyone just has a bunch of good shit, so most characters are viable picks.
Other gaming wise, it’s hard to know where to start, I’ve played so many games. But one thing is that I love Sonic the Hedgehog, so I’m always excited even though I know what will happen when the game is actually released.
Besides for fighters I always look* forward to Sonic the Hedgehog, Tenchu and Armored Core, Phantasy Star, Tales series, Tokyo Xtreme, Phoenix Wright, and Ridge Racer if we’re speaking in terms of series, but in general I’m always eager to try out the next arcade/sim racer, Bomberman, Megaman (my favorite is 8). Like Manny, I was once addicted to DDR but I started to lose too much weight and had to quit, I also dabbled in IIDX for a few years before stopping.
But it’s like I said in my interview with Peter, I was corrupted at an early age and played a shit ton of games so it’s hard to even know where to start, I’d have to view and update my GameSpot account to even know where I stand.
*Still look forward to these games even today.
:wow:
I remember when my metabolism used to be stupid high

I would trade a little bit of my metabolism for a little bit of yours, I hate being stuck around 120-130lbs.
