if any srk posters that live in wichita falls or relatively close have any interest in regular gatherings or monthly tournaments post up here. Figure I’ll start trying to garner interest here.
Srsly. Is there a scene here? When I went to pick up my pre-order for SSF4 there were only like 3 other people there. Madman you work at tilt? What FGs are there now? I never bother going in because it is DEAD and the pinball game in the corner has (had?) a broken button. I’m not really into Tekken/VF…when Tilt was Aladdin’s Castle I believe it was mostly Namco games, is it still mainly Namco?
When I went to pick up my new fightstick (about 2 weeks after SSF4 released,) the Gamestop guys on Central Freeway were actually planning an SSF4 Tourney, I overheard them saying all they needed to do was get it passed through corporate, but I don’t think that ever came to fruition. If someone hosted tourneys around here, I’d be down, but none of my friends play FG’s.
Also, convince management to get an SF4 board (or SSF4,) if it’s been released yet.
About the marvel scene at Tilt: I remember when I was younger, I used to play MvC on FinalBurn and I thought I was the shit. Some friendly guy walked up as I was playing on the MvC machine at tilt, asked if he could play, and beat the brakes off me. I was so embarrassed I didn’t bother wasting any more quarters and left. Lol.

I’d love nothing more than a sf4 machine at tilt but it just isn’t happening. Tilt is run out of a really shitty corporation that only cares about making money with cheesy redneck racing games and 10 year-old candy. We still only have mvc2 and t5:dr.

Ah I’m not a student, I’m 25 and work at a factory :. Anyway when I walk by Tilt I see that the gimmicky racing games are still the main draw. Would I need a pass or something to get into the student center?
Oh yeah, I live in burk :(, but have a car so I can make it to Wichita and I’ve been here all my dang life. And I believe I’ll be off of work the 18th, and so would my wife, so she could watch the kids…so, gimme some details either on here or XBL and nothing short of serious scheduling issues (which look clear) will keep me from bringing my sub-par dudley to get wrecked. Maybe on my days off I’ll head to tilt to get spanked around on MvC2 at tilt, since I’ve gotta get to Lowe’s anyway.

no passes needed to get into the student center, although the date is now TBA since I just found that spirit days (msu event for orientation that uses up a lot of the campus) is going to be that weekend, or maybe it will happen then I don’t know I’m still waiting on confirmation from them.
simply_hugo: I’ve been up to DTX a number of times but it can’t hurt to at least try and create a scene in your hometown. I just figure all the time I spend playing online and not improving could go towards something else. Besides that traveling hurts the wallet.
So just an update on the tournament. Found out a friend of mine is going to run a tournament at Hastings, the date is currently TBA. This is more or less a sequel to the tournament ran last summer, which was run rather smoothly under the exception that no one showed up :(.
I’m sure if we can gather enough people there and make an impact, we can probably get a monthly thing going on there. So rally up Wichita Falls!

whoa, sudden burst of activity, good shit. I haven’t heard anything new on the hastings tournament, I’ll talk to the guy today and try and have some new information by tonight.
as for a gathering, even thought I’m not airforce I’ve been on the base a number of times to play random people stationed there from out of town. They have some kind of rec center (forgot the name, it’s been awhile since I’ve been up there) where they provide 360’/ps3s along with copies of street fighter. Since two of you guys are stationed up there anyway maybe it would be easier to just play up there. If not maybe I can work something out over here…
