In a slightly different order, yes. Any questions?
i actually just picked this team up. wesker hawk vergil is quite fun. Been really effective so far i just run wesker(samurai edge), hawk(horizontal), vergil(rapid slash). arrows gets wesker in and or where he needs to be, while rapid slash can be used as a combo extender for wesker. But i basically runaway with wesker and build as much meter as possible then hawk gets free reign to keep pressure on with the fear of gimlet. If u hit a gimlet u can dhc to swords for nasty mixup
I just started using this team and im pretty dedicated to it(currently in the wesker hawkeye vergil, order). My regular opponent plays Vergil wesker strider, im curious about how to deal with vajra(not necessarily with hawk, but in general) on this team setup, if u have any advice that would be much appreciated.
Oh and sry about the double post
Well the first thing with dealing with strider if figuring out which(if any) of your normals beat out the vajra on the way down and just using them once you see the vajra coming. Also, it only tracks on the way up, so I believe once he disappears if you move forward it won’t hit you. With hawkeye I think a well timed explosive arrow will intercept strider, plus if you cancel into super scatter shot it might hit him(haven’t test yet), don’t try to random maximum wesker/maximum vergil him, it might work every now and then, but its mad inconsistent as I’ve seen vajra beat both those hypers on more than one occasion and in the case of vergil is completely unsafe since your opponent prolly won’t be getting hit.
No doubt gimlet works well too, but if other options exist like jak is sayin, prob not worth the meter. But if ure well stocked, a well timed gimlet or 2 might make them hesitate.
Gimlet won’t work because it tracks the point not the assist so unless your playing a skrull/strider who for some reason calls the assist while meteor smashing the arrows always gonna miss.
Vajra’s considered one of the best assists for a reason, meaning your gonna have to deal a good deal of it. Now, mainly, with Wesker and Vergil, you want to be constantly mobile in the neutral game staying in the normal jump height. Vajra’s eat superjumps for the most part because horizontally you’re not moving as fast. Teleports&wavedashes avoids it well. With Hawkeye, its a bigger problem since he isn’t as fast as the other two, but if your reactions are sure, I guess you could st.M right before it hits you or Super Scatter Shot, but if your facing Wesker&Vergil you have more important issues at hand. I believe Hawk’s j.H beats it also, I vaguely recall that happening before. Now, if Strider is the character playing and he does naked Vajra, its I believe -5 on block, meaning its a free regular grab every time. Make sure you get that down and not pushblock it, its punishable every time he does it without an assist to back him up, unless he has XF3, which he probably will, but just letting you know. Honestly, the Wesker-Vergil mirror match is just derp, playing random is just as beneficial as playing smart.
A small problem I see with your team order is that I don’t think a Wesker combo+DHC into Hawkeye will dish out 850k to kill Vergil off of 1 hit, but that’s another topic.
I’m currently playing spencer, hawkey, akuma and im starting to thinks i need hawkey at point do you guys think that would be for the best? or just a overall new team
I was thinkin more for when he jumps out before teleporting. But I haven’t tried it so its all theory fighter II: champion edition
Ah of course, its technically possible, Im just not sure if its reactable. But yea its an option.
Against Vajra assist, j.H-S, land. From there, you have options:
- Super Scatter - this will take off ~95% (but not 100%!) of Strider’s life
- Trick L -> poison - you can loop this as long as your opponent does nothing
- Trick L -> poison -> Gimlet - opponent needs to be generally in front of you, but this will hurt Strider very badly and any non-cinematic DHC will kill him
Dante (weasel shot)
Vergil (judgement cut)
Hawkeye (quick shot)
Ghost Rider (chain of rebuttal)/ Hawkeye (triple arrow)/ Doctor Doom(hidden missiles)
or
Hawkeye/ Ghost Rider/ Doctor Doom
eh eh? what do you guys think?
Hi all! I have been looking into running Hawkeye as anchor as of late. I currently play Spidey(B) / Skrull(a) / Doom(B) but am kind of getting tired of Doom and was wondering what the Hawkeye players thought of Hawkeye as an anchor with his triple arrow assist? I am currently chosing between several potential anchors so if you guys could give me a little bit of your time and tell me the pros and cons as well as things to work on with Hawkeye I would greatly appreciate it.
Taskmaster (parabolic)/Hawkeye(Greyhound)/Magneto(Hyper Grav)
Taskmaster’s relaunch BnB gets pushed to around 1.1 mil with these 2 assists (whiff spidey swing xx single arrow + greyhound, shield skills xx sting master, jump up otg arrows +grav, shield skills xx sting master, jump up arrows xx diagonal legion, tk vertical legion)
Hawkeye’s blockstrings ending in poison arrow + grav assist gets you net arrow loops into an air combo, you can also end combos in poison arrow otg xx gimlet + grav assist (so far) can at least get you a j.L while falling from the gimlet, and you can try to catch with an air grab on the tech
gimlet xx shockwave or gravity squeeze has it’s obvious uses too
I just don’t want to base a team on a few tricks, anyone see any glaring problems with this setup?
I was wondering if anyone plays a Hawk team with Cold Star on it. Since Hawk doesnt have traditional high low stuff, I realize its an awkward pairing, but basically I’m trying out points for xxx Doom Ammy, and have always loved Hawkeye. Hawk’s got great shit with Missiles and Plasma Beam (Im goin plasma), but was looking for ideas to incorporate Cold Star. Some stuff Ive got already is calling Ammy then doing qcb+H over them to try and cross up. Also thinking maybe on welcome, I could call cold star then qcb+M under them for a crossup as well. There may be fuzzy guard stuff possible too, but unless something like cold star into jS, immediate jM works, I have to do some testing on it.
Sadly Hawk may not be the ideal fit for this shell, but I enjoy him so much it’s worth a shot! Any thoughts?
I would actually recommend either spencer or taskmaster for the team, I don’t think hawkeye would fit that shell very well, but thats just my opinion. Personally I feel if your running him on point, you need a second that can convert of those gimlet shots into big damage(dante, vergil, firebrand etc) and doom can’t. Personally I think my favorite hawkeye pairing is prolly hawkeye/akuma, I think its a really solid pairing(of course what do I really know?)
I’m thinking about doing Hawkeye (Greyhound)/ Dorm (Hole)/Akuma (Tatsu) for fun. What shenanigans do you have for Hawkeye/Akuma?
I actually would be interested as well, I know that Tatsu provides some easy net arrow loops for Hawk. This kind of goes along the same lines as what I was talking about in the Akuma team thread as I run Task/Hawk/Akuma and Task/Akuma/Hawk. IMO I feel as tho I would rather run Akuma second because of Hawks poor dhc ability, and Akuma does great damage without the use of xf unlike Hawk that has to rely on keep away and chip.Imo, and again this is just from what I’ve been seeing from top players who use Hawk and haven’t dropped him already is he is the most viable as anchor and not second. Any thoughts or opinions would be great as far as Hawkeys prime position on a team.
Don’t most people throw him on their team because of his Greyhound assist? That thing is like the projectile version of Tatsu.
It feels like he should be played on point to transition into your 2nd character who is your main go-to-guy since DHCing out of Gimlet is pretty good. Problem is that if you’re playing him on point, you better have Tatsu/Gamma Charge AA/Lariat/Gold Armor Senpu Bu to get space.
